| Barrage Earring Rest Narga Z. Gem for stam rec up, focus, and evade+1 and you still have enough room to get a damage increasing skill of your choice. Whether it be tenderizer or element attack up or Shot Up it's all up to you. | |

| Got question about pierce bows. Is Cera Cyclord (blos bow) worth using? It looks kinda badass. Also what do you think about pierce bows anyway? Is it required to use elemental pierce bows or raw based pierce bows works just fine? | |

| Pierce < Spread < Rapid mainly due to the fact that it can be a pain the ass to get maximum possible damage out of a pierce shot. | |

| oh how i wish i had a power coat +10 talisman...
i think pierce bows do fine on a lot of the large monsters, they're just really bad on the "small" large monsters, like qurupeco, azuros or great jaggi.
long, skinny monsters like lagiacrus, agnaktor or royal ludroth are a special case. when the monster is attacking you (thus facing you), you can get all your hits in. when it's attacking a teammate (thus it's facing broadside), you're only going to do 1 or 2 hits.
"round" monsters like pseudo-wyverns, flying wyverns, or the big, fat brute wyverns are easy pickings with pierce. and of course, pierce is the way to go against elder dragons. using pierce underwater is infuriating, though. also, you won't be shooting any small monsters without manually aiming.
pellet/spread is probably the best type all around, though it's bad for hitting some weak spots (the benefit of pierce). pellet up skill gives +30% damage per hit, and it's the easiest type to get max hits out of. pierce up and normal/rapid up both only give +10%. spread is also the best to use underwater, by far.
rapid is probably the worst shot type for most monsters, but it's the best for hitting small monsters and "small" large monsters like azuros, qurupeco and great jaggi, etc. i say worst for two reasons: unlike the others, with rapid if you're too far away, most of your arrows are going to hit the ground. the ideal range for rapid is stupidly small, and usually well within reach of most attacks. pierce and spread are both better in that regard.

| as for armor... niblesnarf X is fantastic for pierce. try swapping the legs for diablos X legs if you need more deco slots; you get reload speed +1 instead of 2, and you need +1 in sheathing to keep speed sheath, but the resistances are mostly the same, you gain 3 slots, and it even matches color-wise.
is it the abyssal lagiacrus or dire miralis armor that has the "silver bullet" skill? that's a bow user's best friend, right there!

| Pierce is gross because it's so hard to actually get it to hit with every hit while it's much easier to hit with every hit from rapid/spread shots. | |
