Poison a viable option for soloing?

The above question. I was reading some forums that said poison has been changed since tri (pink rathian's backflip never seemed so menacing) and its noticeable too.

How about weapon damage? im aware certain monsters are weaker to poison, but since mh3u on the 3ds well im flying solo. To reiterate the point is poison a viable option to monsters that are weak to it among other, deviljho, diablos, uragaan, agnaktor?

Yes, mainly because Poison has indeed been buffed in MH3U.

Basically, you have to deal a certain amount of poison damage to a monster for it to be poisoned. However, in MH3U, as long as you deal enough poison damage with your weapon, the monster will stay poisoned and continue to take damage, making it much more reliable than it was before. If you can maintain the poison, you will do more than elemental damage. Just remember you can't break parts with Poison.

In addition to breaking parts less quickly, you will also stagger the monster less. So it's definitely not a clear winner.

It still kills the monster, if you want a clear winner go with slime weapons but poison still is a viable way to solo

Slime > poison

Damage all at once > DoT

For people who do use poison, what weapon lines would you suggest in the SA and Hammer routes for high rank village quests? Also I would go with the Giggi set?

Any other suggestions?

what can I say, I enjoy the concept of a monster dying from poison.
