Looks cool. I'm looking forward to it.
I like the monster that looks like a stained glass window. And the one that looks like a large Popo. Popodrome?

I'm liking the new moves for all the weapons especially that huge hammer smash on tiggy's head.
Also that hbg nuke bullet looks epic, but seems like it would be horrible for online play xD.
Hope we see more on this soon!

for all of you that are interested in it GaijinHunter made a video about what the developers said at the reveal of the game and about how the game will work.
it really does look interesting and the weapon customisation seems interesting too

This sucks!!
Now I am going to be overhyped for a game that we will not see in western markets for at least 2 years!! Gotta erase what I saw from my brain somehow!

I'm not entirely sure I understand this. Is this supposed to be Monster Hunter 5?

i'm not completely sure myself if this is acually the next main series title or if it is just a spinoff to cater to the MH Frontier needs of people that prefere handhelds.
i do find it interesting though as this summer (iirc) MH Stories is to release another MH Spinnoff. Also some other arcade and mobile spinoffs, a new Monster Hunter Diary (the cartoony felyne spinoff) have been announced. None of them for the west though. anyway there is gonna be a huge overabundance of MH themed games this year well in Japan that is...

Monster Hunter X is more inline with the "Frontier" series. It's basically to give a portable frontier vibe and will use many similar if not same mechanics and is also said to have monsters more akin to frontier.
So not 5 (as of now) but they may change the title before coming to the west.

It's not MH5, it uses 4th gen engine. The localization director from Capcom even said it's called Monster Hunter Cross, the X stands for "Cross". It's more a Portable 4th type of game, so honestly I don't think the west will get this game anytime soon, or at all... Perhaps in 2017, since MH4U sold well, and was just released and we tend to get games after japan at least a year after its released there. But hopefully the sales of MH4U, Capcom will make a western variant of this game.

I say much sooner than 2017 I say between may june or july 2016. Since MH4g came out in october and we got it about 5 months after in february 2015.

^ Also remember 3U and 4U were about only 2 years apart for us and having a game in a series releasing each year or so is quite common now.
Tri- April 2010
3U- March 2013
4U- February 2015
MHX- ???
But the main thing will be is if they are planning a MHX(G) or not. If they are than it is unlikely for us to get this one but will likely get the "ultimate" version... If they aren't planning a "g" version that.. well who knows it might be likely.

I highly doubt we will have a G version at this point. I sort of feel after this game mh5 will probably announced. This might be a transitional game in between generations like freedom was to mh2.

Actually... If it's coming out this year in the west or before June of next your we will possibly hear about it this month during E3.
Both Capcom and Nintendo have already announced a lot of game which means their e3 event will include announcements not already made... So we may find out as soon as next week.

we also shouldn't forget that there is a lot of other MH spin-offs releasing this year too (in Japan at least) MH Stories, MH Explore (for mobiles), MH Diary (the cartoony felyne game).
and even though i doubt we will get too much of those games in the first place i'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to flood the western marked with MH as much as the Jap one. I'm still pretty much hoping for MH Stories to get a western release. so even if it's unlikely that we will get those spinoffs over here, if we do get them they might push MHX even farther back by a month or two

There is something to be said about "striking while the iron is hot".
In the west (US/Canada/UK ect), they have sold over a million copies. And those playing the game, have been telling others about it. If they announce another release of MH for the west... even if it is a year away, it will generate enough buzz to get 1) more people interested in getting MH4U to "learn the ropes", and 2) enough hype to get veteran players salivating at the possibility of a new game/start.
Capcom should announce this for the west sooner rather than later.

^ Keep in mind that there are also 4 new MH games coming out in japan (including MHX) all aimed at different age groups and players. Also if there wasn't a demand here in the west for more MH, animal crossing wouldn't get dlc for it, nor smash, nor six flags a theme ride.
So yeah agree with you on the "striking while the iron is hot" but Capcom/Nintendo needs to strike 3 time not once with Monster Hunter X, Monster Hunter Stories, and MH Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village DX all of which are 3DS exclusives and released/releasing this year.
There is also Monster Hunter explorers for IPhone and android.
