MHFU: Ad Hoc Problem

Alright, so for some reason I can't see my friends in the online gathering hall, even though they can see me. The channel's correct and obviously the wi-fi switch is on otherwise I wouldn't even be able to get IN to the gathering hall. I run around the gathering hall and see no one, they see me but can't interact with me. Anyone else ever experience anything like this and if so how did you fix it?
