Whats your worst experience with stupid people in tri?

exactly what the title says.

heres my experiance:

I was playing with some random people when one of them asked me to buy a quest he needed for him because he was out of money after just building some armor. I said sure, bought it (stupid of me yeah, but i have yet to do a good deed for the day), and he joined. Someone else needed it and asked if he could come with us. The person who asked me to buy the quest said "No, hes helping me. Wait your turn." /no/ I sent that person a message saying:
"I bought the quest, i say he can come. If you still dont want him to come i can easily cancel the quest, re-buy it and put a password on it so only HE can come and you cant."

Boy oh boy do I know how you feel, then they get pissy when I say (Look at your gear buddy... you'll last about 30 seconds at best (sigh) )

he just wanted to go on a quest with it.

I'd have to agree on that. Why would it anger you? I do agree it should be talked about instead of just done. I know some hunts I been on where no one said cap at first. We get it near killed and someone calls for cap...yet they don't have any traps or do set a trap but don't tranq. Group backs up, no one bringing tranqs and no one finishing it off because everyone is waiting for tranqs. That I could see being mad about. Tell them after the hunt now that we capped how about next hunt we kill so I can carve.

I was on a Lagi hunt the other day with two other hunters. It was a hunt quest, but the person who initiated wanted to cap it, so I brought tranqs and traps. Halfway through the fight, while Lagi is limping away, the initiator says "cap". The other hunter then replies "No, kill."

They argued for a while, and I just kind of sat there, facepalming. MFW the other guy kept attacking Lagi in the hopes of killing him before we could trap it: /no/

I set a trap and tranqed it before he could kill it, but it was super annoying. We'd discussed it beforehand, but he still insisted on doing it his way. Can't stand people like that.

i had feylene carver on,and so did my other 2 friends.We told the guy we wanted to kill los+,he said ok,but he still desided to cap it.

Kind of random, but people who think charging with a lance on land is faster than running, then taking two times as long to get to the monster. I think by the time you're HR 50+ you should have realized that all it does is take twice as much stamina.

Also, people who can't use LS. More specifically LS users tripping me when a monster is knocked down, even though the monster still has a tail.

I had a discussion like this once, but they wanted to kill and I wanted to cap. Why?, cuz it was a cap quest!. I just said "do what you want" and started facepalming untill they realized I was right /no/

sigh...some of you people dont understand.i was mad because the guy captured the monster,even though we wanted to kill it.By the way,aninymouse,please just stop bothering me.Im just sharing my personal experince,you have no right to judge people over one thing.Also,i hate the lance charge,its useful,but people who spam it,are highly annoying.

So lemmie evaluate this, cause it still makes no sense why it upset you.

Ultimately capping and killing result in a successful mission. so either way the, monster gets ganowned. you got mad, that on a kill quest, someone captured a monster. which happens all the time, BTW.
capping gives you better chances of recieving rarer rewards versus killing and accepting the carve percentages of receiving those same rare mats.

so your upset that you didn't have a lower chance of getting those more sought-after materials....?

Well regardless of rare materials or what-not, Leon said he and his friends agreed to kill los, and that other guy practically ignored them.

I can see how he got upset.

There are lots of cases where killing a monster is better than capping. Take for example high rank diablos. To make blos armor, you need a ridiculous amount of carpaces. If you kill blos, you have a 56% change of carving carpaces, but if you cap him, you only get an 8% chance, which ultimately makes trying to get something you need somewhere near 30 of, a rare drop.

It really does come down to what you're hunting for. But yes, if there was agreement before starting the quest to cap or kill, then I would be upset too if someone ignored the team's wishes. If the decision is made during the quest, I don't get quite as upset, as sometimes you can miss the chat if you're paying attention to the monster (I had the same issue collecting G Baggi Hides - can only get from carves. Eventually, I just solo'd the quest to make sure I got to carve).

Of course, sometimes there's language issues. I don't speak Spanish or Portuguese, but I do play with Latin American players regularly. If they don't speak English, communication is usually nonexistent.



On topic: I joined a Jho city recently. The initiator was using LS - Wyvern Blade "Flame" (yes Flame, not Flare). I spent nearly 5 minutes trying to convince him to use something else, and he eventually switched over to Reaver "Cruelty." Killed the Jho. He initiated another Jho quest, and what had he done in between? Switched back to the fire LS. Facepalm.

That Jho took a long time to take down. I only joined so that I could finally clear Volcano Jho. I left after that. Still trying to figure out how he got past Ala as a LS user. Or got the Jho LS in the first place. In the words of Hermes Conrad: "That just raises further questions!"

I agree,if it was desided to cap the monster during the quest,i would have been ok with it.But he went against our wishes,and he said it was ok when we desided to kill it.By the way,i had something like happen do me,people who use the wrong element for the wrong monster.This one guy used water against gobul.

needless to say he just had capture guru as a skill.
the fun part was his "great playing skills" chasing a deviljho walking with his GS out and comboing him, yep, no even charging his slashes. it was really fun to watch.

People who combo with GS on Deviljho quests I go on usually have an ala GS.

said it all that he failed & tried givingna sob-story excuse.

I did have this one guy who didn't have anything but attack up (L) and a weird mix of armors. Turns out he had like 30 attack skill points.

I was once with a group of four and we were going to hunt a large Gobul, so I took a fire hammer along. The Rathalos one, to be specific.

So I'm all ready, when the person who picked the quest suddenly shouts out to me that I can't come along if I have a fire weapon, because according to him Thunder weapons are ONLY the best to use on Gobul /no/

Since I figured that fire and thunder do pretty much the same damage to Gobul, I refused to and he shouted some incoherent words at me in German although sadly for him I know German as well so I understood everything and just responded simply in his language.

He kept cancelling the quest and picking it again in hope the others would join before I did so they could leave with the three of them. However, the other two people I was with were just acting like 'Seriously man'

In the end I ended up beating him around into the air with my hammer and Gobul was a jerk on him as well and he became so angered that he left in rage or something, haha xD

Lesson people, dont force certain weapons on people. Even if their choice of weapon sucks against a certain monster, it's their own decision in the end.

once i was hunting a barioth +,and my 3 friends were in area 7.i just entered area 1 at the time,and bari was there.he hits me 4 times,and i am stunned.By this time,my friends just entered the area.I am runing toward the camp,and bari hits me again.After the hit,i figured,he wont hit me again so ill heal.so i started to use a potion and he hit me again!!!!I fainted,causing 3 faints.i was so pissed!! /mad/
