HR6 Death stench vs Black Gravios

I finally got the king lobster gun, but black gravios still eludes me. (side note: the first battle, i got him limping but killed 3 times AT THE END due to DAMN THUNDERBUGS)

I take like 50% hp from every beam attack, 100% when hes in rage. I'm using death stench s with most parts level 5 (head and chest are level 6). I have one slot used up for the -10 hp rather than -20. Would fire res help me? i don't see much better skills for this battle, and i am NOT fighting fifty zillion more monsters for a different armor.

My main issue is the sweeping beam. I am terrible at MOI, and it is just too wide sweeping to dodge (i swear it covers almost the entire front half of his body, maybe 160 degrees haha). Also, THUNDERBUGS >_<

Run to the right and his sweeping beam can't possibly touch you . Watch this vid for reference on how to fight black gravios. Also rapid fire water S is your best friend. No question there

My current setup is based on mazes hr 6 black grav fight, other than the kirin armor (which only really amounts to more damage output)

Yeah the initial "beam" that appears before the actual laser doesn't inflict damage if you can get in that beam's area you'll have dodged the sweeping beam. Either that or learn to moi "shrugs"

FINALLY!!! I beat him. Running to the right helped quite a few times.

So did wiping out most of the monsters in the areas before gravy :P

Now for the gauntlet of urgents... Gaoren, akantor, then two g-rank hypnos /scar/

gaoren is easy as hell
get narga hbg
get caen S for gunners
gem for pierce boost
Get 60 pierce lev 1/2/3
Bring 99 velociprey claws and 99 bone husks
bring 30 rumblefish and 30 bone husk L
Get felyne heroics
Pierce shen to death. It is easy and effortless.


For aktor just turtle lance him with narga lance and caen S blade

for dual hypnoc should be easy despite them being G ranked

alright good luck! Akantor is also pretty easy with a hammer. Oh and after some thinking i remembered the god hr 7 set

It will give you Sharp+1, Speed Sharpen and reckless abandon+3 which is the absolute best at that rank. Reckless abandon is now superior to attack up for G rank weapons.


Pretty difficult to make but it'll be worth it and can easily last till post ukanlos. I'm pretty sure nasalsniper would be more helpful than me but he's gone now so mehs D: hope it helps though
