Deviljho fight

I just reached HR level 31 but I still cant fight the Deviljho! At what level can I fight it?

You have to finish the jhen mohran urgent to access high rank quest,then you can fight low jho

You can fight Deviljho at your rank from the "Speak Of The Deviljho" event quest. Its a capture only quest that rewards Lion King tickets for the event weapon Lions Bane.
I suggest you do not do this quest though.
Deviljho is unlocked properly at HR 51, by then you will have better weapons and armor...plus that quest draws in others who are inexperienced with jho so chances of success are fairly low.
Also you cannot make Deviljho's armor until after HR 50 because they require Conquerors Seals from HR 51 duo quests like for example "A Burnt Offering".
So really...wait until HR 51+ to fight Deviljho.

That quest exists only to waste your time, you get few jho materials and the lion's bane greatsword isn't that good. (well, I like it, but I like all weapons so it doesn't count :P )

If you are skill enough get the thunder LS, barioth or guild armor and do the 25 jaggias quest alone, you should be able to practice jho there.

some jho armor does not need the conquer seals, just saying

The only thing the event jho is even worth doing is the higher gem chance. Which ultimately is only worth putting up with the inexperienced players if you plan on making all the jho weps & the armor.

Speak of the Deviljho is also good for Pre-51 practice. So by the time you reach 51, you wouldn't be blind to how Deviljho moves. If you're good enough, Rank 3/4 weapons is enough to weaken (even kill) Jho for caps.

If you want to try out Jho at 31, and there is no event. The ADV Quest Jaggia Menace in 4* quests spawns a Jho 100%.

^I don't recommend it though since Jho's HP is not nerfed in that quest, whereas speak has a bit smaller HP if I recall correctly.

Speak of the Deviljho nerfs the HP so that the lower rank players actually stand a chance. I had an HR 45 with me back when I just hit 31, and he wasn't using a particularly strong longsword, yet he still managed to cut the tail. I also had a small hunting party a while back where everyone was below 40, and I was the only one above 50. We managed to cut the tail and knock it over a few times, but I guess that would more or less contribute to the dragon element longsword I was using.

Regardless, it does have less HP on its tail and head, IIRC.

Speak of the Deviljho have the same HP as any other jho

Deviljho takes as much damage from lightning element as dragon

Fighting Deviljho early is not a waste because the Chest, Vambraces, and Coils are all forgable by HR 40, mixing these can easily get you a AUL, Sharpness+1 set by HR40

Fighting Deviljho early also means getting Deviljho Talons which means fast Powertalons and Armortalons

You can fight Deviljho in advance quest "Jaggia Menace" 2 will spawn here 1 after the other or a qurupeco quest and pray peco calls it

Whether you think you're good enough or not, I highly recommend being careful, his damage destroys even high rank, and if you still use low rank gear, it'd probably take one hit to instantly kill you, so it'd be good to go with 150 hp instead of the normal 100. While Jhos moves are easy to read, his occasional side bite is a bit hard to see, so you can still get damaged little by little, and it regenerates a bit of his stamina every time he does it. You should get a proper team if you plan on doing it at such a low HR.

I Can talk about my recent experience about it, since last night i was just doing jho quest just for the lol.

I've been practicing with lances for like 2 or 3 weeks since i got my shark atack lance, and i use it when i go mining. I mostly went for hammer, gs or ls and sometimes s & s just for the lolz.

At my low hr i saw people rushing to kill jho on the quest and most of them attempting to do this where lancers, since i was hammering i most of the time got trown away and almost died , i had like 200 def on my armor no talons just power charms.

So after practicing a bit with lance, and having a set with 355 def, (with talons and power charm) sharpness +1, atack large, auto tracker and capture guru, i joined a jho event room.

It was so diferent from hammering, i was defending all his atacks, most of the times stayd betwen the legs and doing damage, or hitting tails.
Then i tried to go to my cap expert, great luck and capture guru set with 315 def and the same result, lancing with jho just make it easier. I had Undertaker lance.

Then people started to say that they didnt get much prizes (i was getting a whole lot of stuff becouse of my abilities lolz), so i sugested lets go do the 6 Star Jho quests, and the team agree. So we did and it was the same easy and quests done after 15 min, on the last run they wanted to kill, at that time and for the last 2 missions there where only 3 of us 1 gs user and 2 lancers, so we went and killed the jho on 20 min ( yea its 5 extra min to kill and cap was 15 min).

So i hope this helped a bit, i recomend lance jho but before that go practice a bit with lances and get a good one , i'm confident that i could solo one in like 40 min to cap not to kill, and that was just 1 day of hunting it in like 10 or so missions. /yes/

Elchele, you really need higher defense, all my sets have over 400+ Def, and that's without talons, And lancing Jho is not something to look down on so easily, lancing against Jho without even know his moveset is incredibly tricky and you'd always be on the defense, causing you to not deal that much damage, and a Ala weapon is better than the Undertaker, how do I know? I have a Undertaker too but it cant compare to even the first level of Ala Lance. I'm surprised you think it's so simple to beat Jho, while he actually is very easy to beat, for newbs it's not like that, they have so much lower Defense and they aren't as good as you are, so don't make it seem so easy, because it isn't. Even pros can die to Jho, even if they know his movesets, some moves still hit, even with his occasionally slow movements, his grabs and his dragon breath hurt and destroys anyone caught offguard.

Thanks for your opinion, but again i did it like this and it worked, i never died, i didn't had any evade or guard skills, i could block all the atacks (i was always watching my stamina), you will die if you get distracted and he charges at you and you had low hp, always keep watch on your hp and stamina thats a given.

Also it was my experience and has a said it it worked for me, and i did practice lancing here and there and i was "TESTING" my skills with jho just for the lolz and turned out a preatty good hunting night becouse i lanced.

Also i took a risk and changed my clothes for a lower defense one with better luk skills to get more prizes, and since i had already get the hang of jho movements (wasn't my first time fighting it, yes it was my first time with lance), it was ok and i didn't died even once and i had lower defence.

So your point is that i'm giving wrong advices to new players??? wrong!! i was sharing my experience hoping to help anyone.
Don't know wath got you ticked off? the fact that i didn't need 500+ defence OMG you cant survice JHO without it!!!. That i was using a good lance not OMG ALTAREON LANCE FTW!. Now tell me how does people going to practice jho before getting high def or ala wapons?? (also ala lance needs ala tails good luck with that i havent got any), lets say people wait until then, they will die becouse they didn't practice. It's like my solo Ala runs with diferent weapons i just test my skills before getting killed 3 times on a run an screwing up my team.

So now IM GIVING ADVICE TO NEW PLAYERS: Use lance, master it!!!, find one with dragon or lighting element, and if you like defense try to work on a set of that, if you like evade work on a set to get evade +1. Has for me i just wing it and it works my set gives me great luk, capture expert and guru and i get tons of stuff.

You obviously took it wrong and clearly mistook what I was trying to say, I don't blame you, ignorance is common. There is clearly not one bit of hostility in my post, yet you obviously took it wrong and seems that you want to have a argument, but surely, I don't plan on wasting my time on that.

First of all, I'm not saying you aren't good, I'm saying that the people who are going to newly fight Jho are gonna have trouble, it doesn't matter how you handled it, the new players don't know his movements and how much stamina or which one does a bit of damage when you block. It isn't much of a risk if you know how Jho moves, it's obvious, Jhos moves are easy to read like I said, but for newbs he's not to look down on, Jeez you really don't see the point in it do you? You just rushed into it without even reading properly, so please calm down and get off your high horse. And I don't care if you didn't die once, or twice, I don't die either but I don't bother bragging about it or pointing it out, like i said, Jho is easy to read, so it's not surprising if you have experience not dying at all.

Again this is about newbs who don't know about him, not about how you never die using your own methods when you know how Jho can move. And I don't see how i'm ticked off at all? I was just telling you the obvious mistakes? Reread it and show me where it proves i'm anywhere mad or showing hostility to you? Again, my comment is for NEWBS, Not you, they will need a lot of armor, not you, because they don't know his moveset, and his moves still do a lot of damage even with high armor, but you have better chances of survival for the first time, you can get lower after you know how he moves, jeez man.

Oh and You fight Ala before Jho, since the urgent, it's not hard to make Ala weapons or High ranked armor, unless you're lower and are doing the event quests. And if you don't get Ala tail, that's obviously because you only tried once and gave up? It's easy to get Ala tail, you have two chances, from carving it and/ through quest rewards, so don't get so pissed off if you don't get it the first time. And like I said, they aren't you, no one gives a crap if you can solo Ala, anyone can if they put enough time to it, and obviously that's why they need high defense when they fight Jho so they wont die when they mistake something? Sigh, I don't even know why I bother.

But yea your arguments are valid, in the end i hope you aprove the fact that you need practice, has for ala yea you nail it i dont have the patience to go for the tail, i just practice solo him now and then and always fail, my record is 15 min, after he kills me twice i quit just to not waste my potions and stuff.

Back on topic, yes you need good defense it helps a lot, is not enugh have high defense you need experience, you will die and die before you get it right, lance is my choice weapon now and forever to fight him (becouse he scares me /scar/ , and i only feel safe behind a big ass shield).

And last sorry to trolled you with the "tick off " word i know it made you , so accept my humble cat face /sad/
