| So, the (pretty much) last thing keeping me from G Rank and getting sweet armours and weapons is that damned Deviljho. My main weapon is Longsword, but I'm also ok at Switchaxe and getting better at Lance. Any tips such as items to bring, weapons to use, armour sets, and the like are greatly appreciated. I play 3DS, but I'll be hanging out with a friend for a while so we can get this one down. Thanks! | |

| Things like traps, flash bombs, and buff items are generally helpful against jho. One old trick is to get it on it's side and place a pitfall trap at it's feet so that when it gets up it is immediately trapped. Other than that, just attack it's stomach if you can, that's it's weak point. | |

| My fiance and I didn't use traps or flash bombs. We just brought two of each kind of meat to assure that he'll eat one per room. With sleep meat we would place bombs near a part we needed help breaking (usually the tail). Paralysis meat was fairly helpful for cutting his tail, too. Poison is good to bring along just to deal some extra damage to him; however, it doesn't last long at all.
My fiance recommends bringing a weapon you can guard with, like your lance. Try and use a dragon element weapon if you can.
If you can't do that with your lance, perhaps you could make a dragon phial Switch Axe?
I found slime to be very helpful against him as well. He's pretty easy to explode. Also, if you take Kayamba and / or Cha-Cha with you, just to get through the quest set them to Hunter or Gatherer. They're more likely to dance for you on either of those two settings.
Since killing him is hard it may be best to bring some traps just to, well, trap him. Tranqs are your friend if the monster is very hard.

| learn to evade, jho is one of those mobs that has a lot of moves you can evade without evasion (of course +evasion is helpful).
bring dungbombs, if/when it pins you, throw it in it's face! bring para meat, but after it eats one dont bother placing any more. if you're solo dont bother bringing sleep meat. adamant seeds remove the defence down debuff, while nullberries remove the annoying dragonblight.
dragon or thunder is ok, afaik they are equally effective on jho, so pick the one with higher raw. i like using switchaxe cause of the mix of hops and rolls.

| some people use meat, but another "easy mode" strategy is to not to use any meat so he gets tired more often; when he begins to drool, throw a flash bomb at his face, and slash him
for LS or swax, volvidon S armor is your best friend; tremor proof on jho gives you many opportunities, and evade+1 allows you to roll through his attacks; To evade successfully, dont spam the attack button, be prepared to dodge at any time, in particular in rage mode (dont start spirit combo in front of him if he is raging) it's not very intuitive but you have to roll *inside* his attacks (opposite direction of his dragon breath, for example)

No actually you should place pitfall under his chin. That way when he wakes up, he makes one step forward to roar and fall into pitfall.

| For duo, I would bring sleep and para meat, flash bombs, shock and pitfall traps, dung bombs, and bombs. If you have access to the Pitfall mask and/or Nullberry Mask, make sure your shakas have that. Its much more easier to signal when you need blight removed than popping seeds. An extra pifall trap is also useful.
For skills, Evade would be helpful since it sounds like Jho is giving you some problems. If you cant get it just be cautious. Tremor Res is a life saver.
Fight until he gets tired, set your sleep meat down, bomb +'s at his face, and pitfall beside his feet (not to close or right when you set it, it will trap him, you want the bombs to go off and get him trapped). He will most likely go into Rage Mode after the first trap. Do what you can to stay alive, but dont be scared to attack. If someone gets pinned, you both should have dungs to bail each other out. Set some para meat down, when he eats it attack him for a bit, get one person to set another pitfall, the other should set bombs, detonate. Flash when you can, set your shocks when needed. Save one if you wanna cap.

Bombs don't help with cutting the tail.
