| SO! I spent some time, easily grinding out the necessary 4* Port quests (by myself) and finished off Ivory Lagiacrus in about 12 minutes using my Hidden Blade+ and Azure Los set. Good times, yes? It means that I hit 5* missions, and subsequently, Alatreon.
Now, I didn't bother with Village Alatreon because there's no way I'm going to complete every single village quest just to get to Alatreon when I can simply go to the port. So, I got up to the event one.
Just how strong is that thing compared to the village one? I mean, it hits really friggin hard. My first attempt went okay. I burned through all 19 Mega Potions (lol I made a Garbage) as well as my Maxes and Ancient, and actually ran out of Cool Drinks because I was unfortunate in my death timing compared to when I took the drinks.
My third cart came at around 38 minutes, and I swear I was so close to defeating it (having broken the head, front, and back legs as well), but it seems luck wasn't on my side.
Most of the hits were ones that either caught me in a weird hitbox or ones that were too fast/unexpected, and I paid for it a lot. Any tips for a longsword user? Since I'm taking this thing on solo, like everything I have and will.

High Rank event quest Alatreon isn't half as powerful as Village Alatreon. Village Alatreon is Extremely powerful. Almost as strong as the G Rank event quest Alatreon.

| It's pretty easy with GS; you can just snipe him and still kill him in about 20 minutes. I wouldn't waste my time hunting him now. Your weapons are just too weak to deal significant damage, so at least reach G rank, get a sharpness +1 set with any other skills you want and you are set. I wouldn't use Hidden saber+ because narga path ls are really weak in terms of raw. Since you are using LS, using Azure Los armor is very good and I'd gem in HGE. I'd also bring farcasters to force Alatreon to come down when in flight mode. I am going to PM you a video of me using azure los armor and the Ceadeus longsword.
Also, DLC alatreon is the exact same as Village Alatreon.

Not High Rank port Alatreon. Oh wait you mean the G rank Alatreon? I thought it was a tad bit stronger than Village.

| Hmm, well, if it's my gear, then I'll just have to suck it up and wait. My intention was that I wanted to use the Dark Claw for easy farming on Goldbeard, but oh well...
I did gem in CE+3 and HGE. Almost killed it too, but I guess I would have if my weapon was stronger. I would have been using the Dios Katana+, but for some reason, out of 4 runs I have everything for the forge an upgrade, except that I only have 1 Mystery Slime. When do you recommend I start trying, in terms of weapons? I can probably farm the Goldbeard set easily enough for armor even without the Alatreon weapon.
And I suck with GS by the way, it's my second-worst blademaster weapon after hammer. :P

| I'd go with whatever highest raw ls you can get. Getting dragonblight will just nullify all reasons of bringing anything but raw. Do you know how to use anything other than ls? | |

| I have the Hellfire and Toxic Javelin lances, but Dragonblight isn't a problem since I like to carry Nulberries. | |

| go ahead and use toxic lance. forget about HGE since you can just counter his roars, and instead go with evasion+1 | |

hmm no. Village Alatreon definitely hits harder than High Rank port Alatreon... i can vouch for this. The village quest Alatreon is more or less G-Rank already. Even the quest before that, Mark of a Hero, has monsters that are also G-Rank level. so consider it a baptismal if you want to enter G-Rank world~

| They both have the same power and health. If anything, Port Tanzia Alatreon would be slightly more powerful only because you can use local multiplayer there. You're merely experiencing a placebo effect.
Also, Mark of a Hero monsters are not G Rank level at all. They don't drop G Rank materials and they don't get G Rank movesets. They simply get more power and less health.

| Sai, are you telling me that High Rank Port Alatreon is as strong as Village and G Rank Alatreon? Because that's not true. | |
