Alien Isolation

So this is finally released today (or should be barring any unforeseen circumstances). So here is the official thread for this game.

Any and all spoilers for actual gameplay, plot, story, characters, who lives, who dies, etc are to be within a spoiler tag so as not to immediately ruin the game for anyone posting in the thread.

If you want to say things like "game is great" or "this game is a repeat of colonial marines" etc then that is fine. However as I said, posting anything of the story or game at any point in this thread without being in a spoiler box (ask if you seriously don't know how to put something in the special Spoiler tags) will be met with harsh consequences...cause people hate spoilers and I'm a diehard Alien series fan and eager to see how this game is (own it, can't play it, avoiding all spoilers at the moment lol).

That bit of harshness aside, commence the discussions about this game and lets see how it holds up compared to it's failure predecessor!

Nova.. I know how much you like the Alien series (almost as much as I do ;) ) so i'm going to break it to you gently about Isolation...

If by good you mean better than Colonial Marines, you're correct.

Not sure about it's overall quality.

Good not great. and yes being better than Marines isn't difficult. Thought it's not a huge ground breaking OMG this is the best game and Aliens series ever game.. It's good and worth a play through if you like the Aliens series. As far as Overall quality yeah there are a few inconsistant parts such as

So I managed to play some of this at a friends over the weekend...and OH MY GOD is this game good. The music, the look, the accurately named feeling of isolation. And the Alien...oh god is it beautiful in a dark way...

Not gonna spoil anything for those who haven't played yet, and as usual don't post spoilers without a spoiler tag, but yeah...this game is AMAZING.

Beat Alien Isolation, first playthrough and done on Hard at that.

This game...it took me for a ride, the plot, the music, the graphics, the sound. This ...this is what both an Alien game should be and what a Survival Horror game should be. I highly advise if you don't already have this or have played it to go get it.

Seriously. This game got me excited for a game in ways I haven't been in quite a long time, even with a bunch of good games out there, this one for me really stands out which usually doesn't happen.

So apparently there was an update either my XBOX didn't download or I didn't know about. Apparently there are two new difficulties, Novice and Nightmare mode. Now I gotta just play Nightmare mode...oh this is gonna be fun.

Downloaded this game a while ago. It would crash as soon as I got on board the Space Station. Turns out it's some kind of driver problem, and Nvidia just doesn't feel like downloading the correct stuff. Guess I'll have to wait until I get a better computer again.
