Need tips for gunlancing

Now while the bow and the LS are my primary weapons I do pretty well with the lance in both unite and this game and it was my main in tri. But is gunlancing any different? Will my lance sets still be just as effective with the gunlance and as far as combos go, what should I be doing? And what gunlances should I be going after?
