| Hello all,
I hope you are enjoying the release as much as I have (I didn't have the option of going online due to not having plus, so I think I am missing a little bit of hell people have been complaining about).
This is just a thread in the spirit of "speak your mind", that aims to just give people a place to state how they have been doing in the game. Any notable events, big accomplishments, or just random stuff you want to talk about... its all apt to talk about.
Shoot away!
As of this post: High Rank, Hunted my first Kirin, and have a pretty decent GS Set with a Palico Helper: Critical Draw, Punishing Draw, Critical Eye, Slugger, Divine Shield, Attack Up, Quick Sheath. Palico has the Magdaras Armor (38 Def per piece), and a sleep hammer. ... Actually puts the monster to sleep once or twice during hunts.
The Bad: Rathalos just doesn't stay in one zone!
Things I wish I knew when I started the game: Save the slinger ammo the boss drops, to strike a fleeing monster, causing it to stay in the zone you are currently in. I thought the slinger was doing to be a moot addition... turns out it is pretty wicked.
Ok, keeping it short to allow other people to comment.

| I've really been trying to figure out what it is that has been bothering me about the game since it released... Than I realized..... They made the whole thing to overcomplicated. Running from canteen to blacksmith, pay to multiplayer, heck even the graphics at times seem over complicated. But I guess the feeling of going out in the forest as an hr3 and killing 6 large monsters to include rathalos makes up for that. Or does it? | |

| Im loving so many of the changes, even if they do still feel a little..... easy I guess.
Im just not liking the multiplayer community, no one wants to chat, or make hunting groups.

| Spent yesterday getting rare pets and learning the Insect Glave (beat the story with bow)
Today I finished up all the optional quests and got the rainbow pigment! (used all the quests as practice for IG lol)
So far at HR64 and about 160 hours played. I start work next week, so I won't be able to play as much... figured I'd get all the achievements and stuff done before then.

| Finished the story with my limited play time. Bumped me to HR 26.
Got my full Diablos gear with a Focus charm. 1066 Atk with Greatsword equipped, and no bonuses. Love the fact that the third fully charged GS attack is almost always an insta-stagger when it connects.
Anyone else notice how much easier it is now to break the horns on the Diablos, but not the tail?
Got my Armor and Power charms, and can't wait for the Jho so I can upgrade them.

Does anyone have any extra advice for it?
I already wield a paralysis hammer - I know that paralysis affects it.

Yeah, I noticed that one horn would break after a couple hits with an ice bow, and the other followed after a few more hits. Not sure if this is what you meant, but you can upgrade armor- and powercharms with bazelgeuse talons this time around.

I already wield a paralysis hammer - I know that paralysis affects it. maybe you already know this but he follows certain scripts like he'll do 2 open mouth lunges, n theres a move where he always jumps back after jumping forward - it be a easier time especially with hammer to learn those patterns for free hits there's also a paratoad to help with ur paralyze in the big area next to his nest

| Gottem and I have to say I am having a hard time getting used to some new things like the camera, the tracking gimmick and , dear god, the "not playing on a small 3ds screen on my hands but on a big tv 1 meter away"
But I have to say this game is nice. Im 5 hours in and just took down tobi-kadachi aka "Not really Zinogre". Kidding, I really liked it's fight, now im farming for a Kulu armor because I dont think I can take ajanth with the starter armor. Havent subscribed to psplus yet so no online, but bfl_d is my account name if you want to add.

| HR 40 and climbing. Most proud of my mixed set now:
Helm and waist from HR Diablos, Chest, Hands and Feet from Daora Charm: Focus 2
This gives me:
Windproof (Negates all wind) Blugeoner (When weapon looses sharpness, Atk goes up - Esentially makes it so that there is no damage decrease when going from Blue to green, still good to sharpen before yellow sharpness) Critical Draw +100% Handicraft +40 Focus III = 20% faster charge Evade 2
I have multiple max GS for the circumstances, and my Palico uses sleep hammer (works surprisingly well), or the Xenji sword when target can't sleep.
Have not used any other weapon yet, but having tons of fun taking out those optional quests and trying to find Tempered monsters.

| Xeno has now appeared 3 times in a row (Every time he appears, its 2 quests). I can never turn down a limited quest, faught him 4 times in a row, and just said, "Oh, come on!" when his quest came up again. Stopped, and will continue tonight. Have 2 of his gems so far, so I have that going for me. Not really interested in getting his armor. Although, I really think he will be so much easier if I somehow get Hearing & Tremor protection, instead of my current setup. And maybe some blast/terrain protection... would nullify all that is bad about this guy.
Ahh... also, reached max upgrade on my armor/weapon.

Why in gods name would you ever want a pay to win armor? Not trying to be completely rude but that's one of the major problems within the gaming community, that and loot boxes.

| got hero streamstone: long sword twice, one after another D: maybe whining does work U_U;
EDIT: also buying cosmetics seems like the only way to keep games like these updated, i already have 200 hours without buying any armor skins so the game is already worth at least 3x most triple a games (i think i got the plat trophy for the vanilla horizon zero dawn at 60 hours)
EDIT AGAIN: finally got my tenderizer jewel! nana thinks have all the jewels for LS(and swaxe) so KINDA "finished" with the game - will work on trying to make bow sets then learn some 4th gen weapons

| Subject: I just beat Diablos in MH World Sun Feb 25, 2018 11:25 pm | |
| As in my post title, I just beat Diablos in Monster Hunter: World.
My armor set: full Odogaron, all upgraded to level 4.
My Charm: Fair Wind (Attack Boost +1, Divine Blessing +1)
Ghillie Mantle
My Weapon: A Girros Hammer I (has Paralysis)
My Palico had a paralysis weapon, also.
After several losses, I calmed down (if I fight him while angry, I lose more), realized what I did wrong was fight him exactly the way he wanted me to fight him - head on.
I stopped going face-to-face, and started going for his legs and tail - don't get me wrong - I did break one horn, also, but I was going for the kill.
It also helped that I knew his "tells."
Also, because of the win, I got the two Diablos Fangs I needed to upgrade my Girros Hammer I to a Girros Hammer II.
Tips for those of you who are stuck on him:
1) he's all attack - no special elemental or status moves - simply go for the highest armor rating you can muster. 2) learn all of his "tells" - knowing what he's about to do will save you from dying! 3) He can be affected by paralysis and ice; a Girros Hammer can be your best friend here (and giving your Palico a paralysis weapon, too!)
Now, all I've got left is Rathalos - wish me luck!
