Need tips on hr5 plesioth

I need to kill a few high rank plesioths, for fin+ and to get hr 6 urgent. I've found that i can only defeat them with a bow, but i need a better one, or tips of what to bring. im hr5~

and currently have blue blade bow ii. I can defeat just about any monster up to hr5, except lao (never been able to fully kill him...) though i can repel.Please excuse my posts,i can only use 200 ltrs

Im unsure if kirin is available yet, but dragon bow solar decimated plessy when I used it. for the most part just memorize when plessy is gonna hip check and roll, roll, roll. everything else is pretty easily avoided just by being beneath his neck/stomach area. In this area any weapon can pretty much just pound away if you wanna use any other weapon. Bringing some lbb or lbb+ and using para phials also can really help, or if you're using melee use shocks and lbb+. If the battle tends to drain yur resources make sure to cap since it ends the fight alot sooner.GL

does dragon bow solar need high rank kirin items? and does it need to be improved from another bow?

oh, woops. I meant dragon bow halo, which is basic stuff except for kirin thundr tails which arent too hard to get. solar is the upgrade of this but needs high rank stuff. halo does work pretty well though. another alternitive is sonic bow upgraded to the highestyou can get it, Its fairly powerful and is easy to make.

ok got it, only needed the tails (got both from the first kirin lol). any tips on armor? or will just about any work? my current setup is mostly blue guild armor with genprey chest and gauntlets

Elemental Attack up wouldn't be frowned upon, neither would evasion/evasion distance up. Plesioth is a pain in the ass because of its ridiculous hitbox *Hitting me with a hipcheck when I'm behind you? C'MON!* and its habitual fixation with staying in the water for the majority of the fight. I would actually say EAU over evasion mainly because you'll be at range. Just watch for its cues when it's about to pop you with a water jet and don't let it slide into you.

EDIT: Also, a pierce bow would work best on Plesy, which I believe Halo has pierce, so abuse it.

any specific armors though? mhfu is time consuming enough, id rather not need to search through the smith screen. remember, hr 5

Did you do all the village cat quests? Cause those are generally easier and you get HR materials from them...cause if so...get Akantor Armor...with it's Capacity Up bows gain their special shot (except poor Akantor Bow nerfs...sigh capcom is like blizz in this aspect...over-nerfing things) and rofl pwn stuff.

Keep at it, use your best weapon and match it with Monoblos element weakness. Be sure to not be skimpy on healing items either.

lol, i always bring the mgximum healing items, except max and ancient potion (10potions,10mega,10herb,10blumushroom,10honey)

i think guild will be easier, so ill work my way up til i can beat them

Guild is actually harder per say because while both its high rank and village cat are "high rank" village cat is specifically for solo play and thus some of the monsters are either slightly weaker or easier to handle (though they still are high rank and should not be shrugged at) and you can still get all your desired stuff, and I'm pretty sure High rank Kirin is hr5 so you should have no problem making a that Dragon Bow Solar for plessy, you don't need an amazing HR ranged armor but it would help.

I hated that plessy (and the gendrome running around in that quest HAS to be dealt with first, a bomb / trap will handle it effectively and make it quicker to deal with but you should bring a FULL assortment of traps and bombs and bomb mats to deal with that annoying Green Plessy as it has a TON of health.

guild seems easier because i dont have to deal with dual monoblos urgent. dreading dual tigrex though

dealing with the gendrome is easy. would you suggest bombs over stuff to make more power coating?

I personally find plessy rather easy to defeat when you have a good bow. When i fought him i used the dragon bow halo in combination with Kusha armor. Add a few shortcharge jewels and you have focus. You should bring trap mats and bomb mats. Also, Halo can use sleep phials so don't hesitate to put him to sleep. Place a couple lbb+ and BOOM! Repeat. Then just fire away from an angle when he does the water jet. The only move you should really be worried about would be his land swim. Just wait until he starts a water jet and then start shooting. I've found that you can usually get two lvl 3 charges in before he finishes which gives you plenty of time to maneuver away from him. Hope this helps and good luck.
