Well we know that TG will come bundled with the add on for another slide pad and 3 additional buttons. Basically making it the same control scheme as the Classic controlor Pro for tri on the wii. But what if you choose to go the touch screen route?
Well... There is this:
Spoiler:
The touch screen will include a virtual D pad which will work for camera controls.
This is shown as the uper right button.
In the lower left you have your Item selections. Touch it and you can click to use or combine items.
Upper left shows the map. Click to inlarge it and see the area you are in better.
And lets not forget the little kick button... Tap and kick, tap and kick...
Next is the lock on (targeting feature) which is the button in the bottom right. It will remain inactive while there are no large monsters in the area.
Spoiler:
As you can see by clicking on it the monster will stay centered in fron tof your camera veiw.
Capcom has alsoalready stated that there will be several different set ups you can use so you can have the screen the way that best fits you.
In my opinion I really like the control set up with the touch screen and really don't see much of a point in the "Clissic" controlor add on. But I am sure many will much more prefer the add on over the use of the touch screen for many of the controls.

The touch screen additions sound amazing. For one, its nice that the map will be on the touch screen and not hindering the top right corner of the screen, like in the PSP titles. (never really bothered me in Tri, tbh)
As for the lock-on feature, it really keeps the monster centred as you go around it? That is awesome. Though I will admit, I never really minded the manual camera in Tri. MHFU was a learning curve for me, but I managed. But this just cuts out all the 'camera hassle' and really lets you just focus on the fight.
I just really hope we get it over here, and that the online play (should there (very likely) be online play) isn't as restrictive as on both the PSP titles, and Tri.

The new port area that they have created leads me to believe they are planning a much more open and larger online area. But you never know.

Lock on...
I don't like that idea, but if it means that I could get more people playing MH, then so be it.
I won't use it.

Lock on is kind of inacurrate.. It just keeps the monster centered with your camera so you don't actually have to keep moving the camera as you move.

I'm not too fussed about the "lock on". It's there if you don't want to use the attachment or break your hand doing the 3DS reverse claw. Nothing is forcing you to do it.

That's one thing Nintendo has always been really good at. Giving you options on how you would like to play a game.

Why's that here? Put it in (edit by admin... please zel.. don't start anything) thread if anywhere. That's where all the complaining's happening.

Well, we got the items moved to the bottom screen, which we all wanted, as well as the map, I'm kinda loling about the kick being screen controled. The lock on I really don't mind. In Tri, FU and P3rd I've gotten wasted Celestia knows how many times because I couldn't get focus back on the monster. If it keeps me alive, I'm good with it.
I've heard that the "lock on" doesn't really lock on to the monster. When you touch the icon to turn it on, the L button will make the camera face the monster. It is also optional as well.
Just wanted to clear that up.

Most of the controls are optimal and customizable to an extent.

Here's a Youtube Vid to a Stage presentation. Its quite long and all in japanese . But it does show how you can customize your touchscreen and how the camera options work.
EDIT : "New members are not allowed to post external links or emails for 7 days" Just search on youtube " [TGS2011][09.15]モンスターハンター3(トライ)G ステージ ダイジェスト映像 " It should be the first Vid 39:22min long.
I got to say it looks quite comfortable to use the Touchscreen D-Pad for Camera Controll in Addition too the "Lock"-On ( its not a real lock-on like in Zelda) And its quite nice to have all the Userinterface banned to the lower screen.
It's meh Seregios

Hey about the lock on feature, I think it'll be useful for people who r not going to buy the extra stick. I remember on unite in the psp pressing the L button. never used the dpad.
edit: I forgot to check the dates  , sorry for necro... so long since I was here.

It's not necro bumping if you add relevant information. I think your post is just fine.
I saw the videos of the game being played with and without the attachment. IMO it seems to be played better without it.

Here's a short In-Depth video on the controls of Tri G. It might be old, and some of you may have seen it. I haven't seen anyone post it so, here it is.
Also sorry for the semi-necro. Tri G section doesnt get a lot of responses anyways so.....
