| If you want to play online, you either need to set up Ad-Hoc party or X-link Kai. Otherwise, it's local multiplayer only. | |

| nope, sorry. it connects, yes, but through local ad-hoc (itll say connecting to channel 1 rather than your normal wifis name). nobody will be there unless you have friends nearby who are also connected to that channel.
Thats why ad-hoc party etc... exists, so people who have no friends ( /versad/ ) can play ad-hoc only games over wifi.
It's still kinda complicated to get online... you need a ps3 connected to the internet with a cable, not wirelessly.

| you don't need a ps3. there is another way. u need a wifi-stick and the software from the PSN (i think that is what you want to set up, or?)
but I don't know any details

| That is even MORE complicated :/ the wifi max itself is hard to find, and the program is a pain to set up correctly. It's also not an official psn program, its called xlink kai.
I might be able to help someone out when i get mine, but the wifi thing is still being shipped.

| It's much like the ps3 thing...
heres how they both work:
The ps3 uses your internet to work ad-hoc party. the problem is, it only has one wireless card, which gets used by the psp to connect to the system when you use ad-hoc party. So it needs to be connected with an internet cable for it to have any internet
Xlink kai runs on anything that is connected to the internet, laptop or desktop, wireless or wired connection etc... but it needs something to connect the psp. thats what the wifi max is for, it allows your psp to connect to the program/computer and play online.
Thats all just the basics though. in short, yes xlink kai uses your wifi :P you will probably have a lot of lag issues with wireless internet, but its not required to have a wired connection unlike ps3
