| I'm not able to build the baltzenger lance yet so I built rampart which shows to have fire element on every weapons tree I've looked at ... but smitty & inventory equip' review show no element. After rampart it shows upgrades need awakening for element but not rampart & below. What's the scoop on this. | |

| There is an armor skill called Awakening. What it does is give weapons an element. So Rampart won't have an element until you Awaken it. The Awakening skill is from (Online) High Rank Lagiacrus or Alatreon the final monster in Online.
Baltzenger and Spiral Heat are the only natural Fire Lances. Spiral Heat is from Agnator, the second to last monster in Offline. Baltzenger is from an Online Event Blood Sport. In it you face Uragaan & Diablos, two very cranky earth-quaking monsters.
P.S. In most weapon listings the first column is the element, the -second- column is the Awakened Element.

| Also a comment on blood sport, the quest is very easy if you know their attacks... Just bring a bowgun or an ice weapon along or let the people with end game weapons do it for you... | |

Just bring a bowgun or an ice weapon along or let the people with end game weapons do it for you... i soloed it with the barioth sns. It helps that they have reduced health and that they keep blocking eachother.

| I'm pretty sure he's not High-Rank yet.....
Soloing Blood Sport with HR Equipment is easy
Soloing Blood Sport with LR Equipment is almost as hard as Soloing Double Diablos with End-game armour.

| It seems another problem is the weapons tree you're looking at is either inaccurate or a pain to read, http://divinewh.im/w/lc/this tree display is easiest for me. | |

Soloing Blood Sport with LR Equipment is almost as hard as Soloing Double Diablos with End-game armour. I used the LR ice sns, icicle spike+, with rathalos armor. I was only like hr 23 when I did it. honestly though, I think most of my damage came from traps and bombs.

| Great site Ugthorf, Thx. Apparently Wiki forgot to add the asterisk to the first few Iron lances which signify them as needing awakening. | |

http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH3:_Lance_TreeOn the lance tree, the element fire is under the awaken column. http://divinewh.im/w/lc/On this tree, I see the element fire on the iron lances, but I don't clearly see where it says that it requires the awaken skill (in the chart). I think the wiki lance tree is easier to read, at least for me. However, the other tree is way shorter, so less scrolling up and down.

The ones that require awakening for element have a gray number instead of a white number in the "element" tab. It's the letters right in front of the " FI" and " IC"
