| How would you feel if sleep knives, para knives, etc. weren't supply items, and you could take them with you on your quests? Of course, some mechanic would have to be put in place to ensure you couldn't just combine more and have infinite status, but I'd like the alternative of tranq knives to tranq bombs because of their long range accuracy. Right now, the knives have almost no use, unless you're given them at the beginning of the quest (which is uragaan only I believe) so if we were allowed to take them away with us, I think they'd be a bit more viable. What are your thoughts?
Also, this will never be implimented. :p

| Easy way to spot hackers is their use of para, sleep, poison knives. I wouldn't mind having them in a legal way but then again I'm not going to lose any sleep over not having them. | |

| Considering they're more of a gimmick, no, I wouldn't care if they were implemented fully or removed outright from the games. | |

| If you could bring them it'd be pretty damn overpowered. A team could guarantee about 2 paralyzes and 2 sleeps in a fight essentially for free. | |

| Considering that in Tri it's not a big deal to not have these types of knives because of Wind Barriers, etc. etc. I don;t mind them being only supply items. Now Freedom Unite and monsters like Kushala Daora who are easier when poisoned because of the various barriers would be nice for a bow user like me if we could combine them. | |

| If Knifes weren't Supply items, it would be easier to do Status. Personally, i would use it on two monsters only because they are challenge (Deviljho and Ala) and i know you can just meat Jho but there is a possiblity that someone hits him and ruins the chance to bomb his face.
That's an example anyway.
But as Rene said, i'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

| Yeah, there'd need to be some method of preventing status abuse. Maybe if throwing knives were supply items and the combined versions were permanent? | |

Yeah. Or well in general, they give 6 normal knifes for you to customize yourself.

| well...a 4 people team all of them with 10 para, sleep and poison knives would be a little too overpowered, don't you think? | |

| They would probably have less status effect in order to be balanced. I always wondered why you could not create them from something similar like iron ore. I actually received some throwing knives from a hacker once and other then handing them out to others I never used them. | |

| They're kind of overpowered. Basically like bringing powerful status shots. Four people would be able to get at least two para's in before running out of knives, and the amount of damage that can be done in that time is absurd.
In the arena, you get knives very frequently. But only two people can hunt in the arena, which limits their power.
In short, free use of status knives would make the game a bit too easy.

| I remember they were useful in past MH games. Like a los sleeping on a little island you can't even get to. A little throwing knife solved that problem, couldn't reach it with a paintball.
But it would be cool, easier status effects. But i'm fine without them.

| Best way is probably keeping throwing knives as supply items but offering five normal knives in the supply box at the beginning of each and every quest. That way only one person can take the five knives, can't collect them since they're supply items, and will need to bring the correct ingredients with him if he wants to combine to make status knives.
It won't be overpowered and it'll provide an extra way of inflicting status which doesn't involve bringing a status weapon with you for the whole quest or having a gunner in the team.

| They would be useful but pretty OP. Even with status inflicting shots, it takes multiple hits and there's a lot of blow back. So knives would need to be downgraded and limited in number. Status should be hard to inflict, that way it's fair to all weapon users. | |
