Best+worst weapons for each monster

First topic message reminder :

What are they? You may be able to pick up tips on what works for what and what doesn't if a lot of people share opinions on things. Obviously, they will be affected by what weapons you like and don't like. Give reasons if you like; for now, I'm just doing a quick list.

Well, my worst weapon for everything is a bowgun, so I'll say what my second-worst is as well as my best.

Obviously. I wanted to see how much variation there was between what works for different people. I was just intersted in people's weapon preferences per monster; I wasn't trying to get any useful information.

I don't see how coming here simply to complain about the thread and state the obvious helps. You may as well just ignore it. No-one's forcing you to come here or write anything.

"PRSONAL Best+worst weapons for each monster" then...
also, no one forces you to be a douche to anyone who does not agree with you or does not answer what you wanted either.

anyway I use every weapon against every monster and they are all effective.

Each weapon does have pros and cons...

Spirit, please don't feed the trolls. If you want help with somebody that is disrupting your thread you can just ask a mod. Do not take matters into your own hands and vaguely insult them, that's almost as bad as outright name calling.

Andrea, you got into an argument with somebody for doing the same thing that you are in this thread, and that thread eventually got locked.

Also, insults against other forum goer's are frowned upon, please keep that in mind the both of you.

That's why I became lance first, there were very few "tank players" in the beginning. Lance is probably the best weapon to stay around/close-to the monster for a long time. Using gs for the same role is absurd, but sns could work; however, imo, not as well as lance. Roles are probably one of the most important concepts to understand in fighting games. However, monsters have pros and cons, just like weapons.

Gobul - Best: Long Sword // Worst: Lance

Rathian - Best: Hammer,LS,GS,SA,SnS.... nvm x___X

Lagiacrus - Best: Hammer,LS // Worst: SnS

Barioth - Best: Long Sword // Worst: GS

Agnaktor - Best: Long Sword // Worst: SnS

Diablos - meh everything is pretty much the same... but I guess hammer is worse due to crap damage on head.

Uragaan - Best: Hammer // Worst: GS (Lvl 3 purple sharp charge effing bounces on chin o__x)

Jhen Mohran - this betch is a punchingbag....

ceadeus - this betch is a punching bag made of water... buuut SnS worst..

Alatreon - Best: LS // Worst: I dont have a worst for this thing since every other blade weapon would be 2nd after LS.


Bnahabra - Best: Switch Axe // Worst: SnS


Best for everything: Wyvern Fire...wtfboom!

And so do the monsters, which is why some weapons can be more effective than others in certain situations. Barioth, for example, is very fast. Some players, like me, may choose to counter speed with speed and go for a sword and shield, whereas others may like to deal as much damage in a single hit as possible, due to not being able to get in many hits, so they'd use a greatsword. Or something.

Thats right, I made a living in both freedom 1 and Tri killing everything that can be carved with a sword and shield... in the snow... up a hill... both ways! And I liked it!

To me it's boring to play with puny toys, but so be it.

Anyways, roles seem more important than the actual weapons, sometimes. The role is dependent on the monster's fighting style, and the player's skill level and knowledge on this monster. However, mechanics never lie.

Anyway, there isn't a best weapon for monsters. Its whatever you're best at.

Okay on all seriousness I prefer hammer on most monsters because a knocked is a nice monster in my opinion then comes lance and switch axe second for my tastes. My worst weapon might be great sword. I am used to high DPS and gs is a bit out of my comfort zone still a great weapon but just not for me.

When i first played monster hunter, i hated hammers, and loved great swords. Then here i am now, i like hammers, but not my favorite, and i dont like great swords.
