| As the title says, i'm looking for a good bowgun for support gunmanship. I'm looking for light or medium bowguns that can heal, buff armor or attack, etc. It would be useful if it also had some status afflicting shots as well like paralysis, sleep, poison, etc. So which bowgun/bowguns would best fit that description? | |

| I use Rath+ Frame/Chaos Wing Barrel/Chaos Wing Stock
Loads 2 shots of Recover lvl2, Para lvl 1, and Para lvl 2, one shot of Poison lvl2, Sleep lvl 2, Demon lvl 2, and Armor lvl 2. Not a lot of anything, but with load up, its more than good enough. As far as attacking, it doesn't have much pierce, but loads 4 of every element except fire, of which it can hold 5, and dragon, of which it can fire two rapid fire shots.

| I suppose this is on-topic enough. I'd like to know what gun set suits this need. Looking for a light bowgun that can rapid-fire paralysis (if possible), as low dev/recoil as possible without sacrificing too much, and still can also do decent damage with whatever. (Slice, Pierce, doesn't matter really. The last part is if it can fit.) Answer after the initial topic post though, until he is satisfied.
I apologize, I think I posted maybe 2 posts a while back and never came back. Mainly because my bro Crystalis hogs the Wii. Now I am officially semi-active in the designs portion of MH. (Blademaster but w/e.) I have to do other things still, but I like checking in here to see what's happening.

There are no gun parts that can rapid paralysis, but there is a gun called Giggi Stringer (Barrel) that can rapid poison. Light bowguns are generally not that good, as the medium offers more power and is a little bit slower (but still rather fast) when drawn and lacks the sidestep...which rarely helps anyways. Light bowguns are probably best for element rather than raw, as their attack is the weakest out of all the guns. As for paralysis, I use the rath+ frame which loads 2 level 1 paras, in turn for 5 los plates (ouch). The los+ frame has Average recoil low L/R deviation and Below average reload, which is highly desirable from most frames having high recoil. As for a good status stock, its hands down Chaos wing. It has small reload boost and reduced+ recoil while loading 2 lv.2 para and 1 Lv.2 sleep. The barrel i change for the monster as I use element...but if you stick to just status Tropeco is often overlooked. It loads 2 lv.1 poison shots and 2 lv.1 sleep shots.
All together those parts make a gun that loads these: 2 of every lv.1 status 1 Lv. 2 Poison 2. lv.2 paralysis 1 lv.2 sleep (No load up) It also has average reload and low recoil with no deviation.

| My suggestion: Light Bowgun frame,Bloodguilty Maw, Chaos Wing stock Recovery 3/0 Poison 5/2 Para 2/2 Sleep 2/1 Exhaust 5
If you want a gun for speed runs you would need a gun which loads more para for regular hunts some of each is cooler cuz more status.

| Here's one very important tip, by the way:
A support gunner isn't the guy who heals everyone and buffs up people with Demon and Armour shots. A support gunner is the guy who constantly paralyses the monster, sets traps with trap master, puts the monster to sleep if the team's into sleep bombing, and MAYBE heals/buffs up the odd person here and there. Do NOT focus on healing other people if you want to actually be effective. They can heal themselves and healing other people can very well distract you and make you end up needing to heal yourself.
