| I do not gun so this topic is about blade users only.
I find it curious that so many armor set-ups pre-built in armor calculators, on forums including MHWF, and online character skill sets choose not to have speed sharpening. Personally I cannot imagine not having it, even at the cost of not having a desirable alternative skill. In fact the only skill I can think of that I might sacrifice speed sharpening for is sharp+1.
I'm curious to hear what others think on this subject.

| Speed Sharpening is very good, no doubt about it, probably one of the best C skills there is. (along with trap master, capture expert etc [if cap expert even is one, don't believe it is now I think about it])
However you should pretty much always sacrifice it for an A skill if you can, in a straight trade-off. Evade+1 is undeniably better, as is Sharp+1 for example. Though aside from that, you can get a similar skill from the felyne foods that does the same job; so sometimes you don't even need it at all, and is redundant.
Having said that, I see a lot of people around here using it. It is a great skill to have on sets that allow a free C skill.

| Depends on who I'm hunting with, what we are fighting, what weapon I'm using, and whether I'm just goofing around.I think that half of my melee sets have speed sharpening. | |

| Eh, whenever I get the polisher food ability, speed sharpener isn't really what I want with that food skill.
The food skill is almost as good (besides the fact that it can not speed up your sharpening sometimes....), and imo it's a nice alternative that can possibly come very rarely lol.
That's just my opinion.

| If I have a few open slots, and no other skills that I really need, Speed Sharpener is my first choice of misc. skills. In fact, I refuse to use Adren without it. | |

| You should only have it when you have a weapon that has a small amount of sharpness for green+. It's only necessary for sharpening in the middle of a fight. Otherwise, you sharpen when the monster flees, where you won't need the skill.
I only find it a side skill that i would use if i can't get anything else i would need that is more useful than it.

| My input on this is simple, If i can fit it in a set with Sharp+1 then i will include it, however, if my armor skill set is Razor sharp, then no because my sharpness last longer. however all my set i like this skill, that speed sharpening is great. | |

| In truth, i've never used the Sharpening Skill on any armor set. I know it's a good thing but i just never really...did it. Lol X_X Well cause my Bari armor is gemed with Guru, Rathalos with Attack, Lagia with Critital Eye (I dont know why i haven't got rid of it...) Baggi was with 50+ health, Ian was gemed in to give me Fire Res 15+, no Demonic blessing and i think you get it where HR or normal earplugs. I'm making Vangis and Alatreon armor and think of something but ive just never really used the speed sharpening skill because I just didn't. I mean, i can put it in Lagia OF since it helps with the Sharpness skill. | |

That's quite redundant Anyways, I really only used it until I faced Lagi, seeing as how weapons the weapons from that point on have more than enough sharpness that you don't have to worry about sharpening as often, so I usually just swap it out for an attack boosting skill

| what you say can sorta apply because the deco is +2 1 slot, but yah can't find something like +7B +10 Speed sharpening D: IMO this kinda proves its worth
back in the day Kasuka and I used this a lot and we even stacked it with razor sharp, its a god sent vs ala because you don't have to waste time baiting her and she doesn't change areas.
if you stack end game god sets together other monsters will fall before you need sharpening or you only need to sharpen once or twice so its not worth it to have
the Japanese players love this skill in their fun runs
