MH4 info (mostly confirmed now)

I'm thinking it's some kind of bowgun polearm combo or maybe just a spear, I dunno, but at first glance it looks pretty awesome.

I've got it!!!!!!! A stone thrower!!!!! It's a new stone throwing weapon!!! Like that sport with the scoop thing and the balls you throw but a longer throwing thing with a blade on one end and used to throw stones.

Looks like it can switch between a shield using cutting mode similar to lance, but with a more offensive shield, and a long reaching KO using mode. I fully approve of this new weapon! Now to wait until we can see it in action... Not sure how the stone throwing dynamic would work though, you'd need to pick up your shield after each toss.

Side note, it looks like the weapon and the armor are part of a set. At least an early starting set. Might just be bone armor or something, but I doubt it.
Also, rathalos is already confirmed but the female is wearing Urkuses (sorry if I spell wrong, too lazy to go check) armor, may just be them using familiar armor and concealing newer ones but it's likely we'll be seeing it in the game too since this is clearly for MH4.

This is one of the things that made me consider if it is fan made. Both the Rathalos pose and the Urcusis pose have been used before.

The same thing got posted over on Capcom Unity. The person that posted it stated that the images are just speculation from some guy called "Mole".

A shield with a blade and a long stick... Why MH has to complicate itself with complicated weapons...

Wait!!! Don't you see!! It does have a stone on the end and that sheild is actually a gun that shoots stones!!! Yes!

According to the top comment on the article, people using the weapon can jump, not the insect, and the insects gather extract.

Well then... that at least explains the function setting it apart from other weapons, and it does sound interesting. Wish there were more details, but we'll likely to see much more as it gets closer to new years.
The extra boosts obviously will be for one player only, so hunting horn isn't replaced. /yes/

Also, we have a translated name for the new flagship it seems... or perhaps it's mentioning a different beast? I doubt it, but possible.

Looks pretty good really, and it seems that those with the new weapon can pole vault if I'm seeing it correctly. Great Jaggi confirmed, not too surprising with Jaggi runnng around. The flagship itself has a weird head on it, but it still looks good!

LAtes face it.. We all know that the Great Jaggi IS the flagship Monster....

well, on tri it was the only monster from singleplayer with it's own music theme, subspecies and personal harem. if that's not flagship worthy then what is.

Hmm.... I like the idea of the weapon, but I'm not too fond of a bug companion for stat boosts...
It is interesting though.
It's like a personal "I'm gonna boost and kick your ass" weapon.
