thnx. Well plates are the rarest LR mat of a rathalos so yes they are quite rare. The best way to get them is to cut the tail and carve it and then cap the los. The tail carves do give plates every now and then and rath plates are also not too rare when you cap (better than killing). | |

You can get los plates in both los+ and normal los hunts BUT it's advised that when in need of los plates you hunt the normal los. So basically just farm the normal los through cutting the tail and then capping. You should have a decent amount of plates in no time  | |

| Rathalos plates are more common in rewards if you take part in events like:
Fiery Skies Frozen Fields - Barioth and Rathalos arena event
Lords Of The Sea And Sky - Rathalos and Lagiacrus arena event
Red Hot Party - Rathalos, Uragaan and Agnaktor event
Id recommend doing these events over normal tailcutting, the chances are alot higher than normal to get them in rewards box; especially in Red Hot Party.
So if you are high enough rank, id recommend doing either of these 3 events to save time. | |

| You can also try offline double trouble (mating season, or whatever the rathian and rathalos double hunt quest is), since plates appear in the rewards. :D | |
