This game holds a special place in my heart now that i will likely never forget, i'm not gonna tell the story though. Pretty fun, amazing shock factor, not too scary in general though. (Although the lore about the slender on the internet is pretty spooky)
After reading the legend on Slenderman, playing Slender was alot more spookier than I thought it would be. The legend added character to the game I think. I scream like a little girl when he comes up in my face ;_; And that freaking building place. Gosh I really hate that one, always think he's going to be right around the small corner in there ready to get me xD
Scared the living shit out of me! I played this round a friend's house and was sitting on a 3-legged chair and of cause when slenderman appeared, I fell of the chair and was screaming like a little kid! XD
My nephew is 13 so that's a huge part of it concerning Slender. This boy hates the Skeletons and Draugr in Skyrim as well.
Off topic a bit but, he's not actually playing skyrim himself is he? That game is M rated for 17+, discussions about individual responsibility aside this sounds like a huge red flag to me.
Maybe it's just me and my friends but, no one I actually know finds Slender (or Amnesia) scary...a bit startling maybe when something suddenly jumps out or happens but really it's like....eh.....it's not scary because you aren't in any actual danger, yet there's tons of videos on Youtube of people getting scared by it, some faking obviously but some real...and I'm like "why are you scared...it can't get you".

But the only real fun to be had in that style of game is getting into it and letting yourself be scared, regardless of real danger or not.
I don't really like it... as far as indie horror games go, it's probably one of the best, but after half an hour you just learn to not look back and then... you win. That's it. Nothing scary about it past that half an hour mark. Before then though, provided you have friends round, it's a blast.
I found the same happened with Amnesia, after a while something just clicked, and I didn't find it scary anymore. More of a challenge with an interesting story.
