What should I gem into my Qurupeco armor to fight Gobul?

BTW, I worked super-hard, contending with the infamous "Desire Sensor," but I finally finished my Qurupeco Armor.

I notice it has the following:

Def Up (S)
Evade +1 (already saved me a few times)
Recovery Up

and it has five gem slots.

I am currently being stymied by Gobul. I also have the flame hammer (I believe the Plume Flint) crafted out of extra Peco parts.

What would be the best use of those five gem slots (six if I go after him with my Rugged Great Sword.)

Sadly, the only talisman I have is the +10 Auto-Guard Pawn Talisman, which I don't use.

I would suggest boosting the Defense skill and improving to the Peco Flint. Or use the Rugged Greatsword.

Peco armor also has 4 pts of Attack. If you upgrade to the Peco Flint, or use the Rugged GS, you could put in 6 more pts of Attack for Attack Up Small.

I reccomend gemming in half paralysis or (even better) half stun. They aren't great, but the paralysis can speed things up if you get caught out, and the half stun is good for hammers, as you guys can't block the flash attack, and it lets you recover from it quicky.

I'd either bulk up the defense or gem in some attack.

When you go to fight Gobul again, bring a lot of mega potions/potions/herbs and maybe a mega dash juice, as well as some might/adamant seeds if you can. Also try and lure it out onto land if you're able. I'm terrible at doing this, but if you can manage it, it should be much easier to fight on land than in water. Let us know when you slay it!

My Personal pick would be Speed Sharpener. Sharpener is very convenient fpr keeping your damage output optimal and helps to keep you from bouncing since you are using weps with mostly green sharp.

I used full Peco Overforged with Speed Sharpener all the way past Ala. Once you master Evasion+1, you will never want a set without it.

dont forget to bring a frog and fish him out ;)

As JFizzle has stated best bet is going with speed sharpner for optimal damage if you are having too much trouble I recomend speed set up for easy traps I know most people look down upon it, but when I was first learning how to play flashes and traps had helped me me through the early grind. I don't recommend you trying to flash gobul though brcause that would be silly but if you are having trouble traps always help and as Chagrilled has stated don't forget your frog to fish it out.

Sidenote: as stated before, frogs make this battle a pice of cake, If you are short of frogs or you cant find any, search for them on area two of the flooded forest, they are on a plant near the entrance to area 4

Gobul is one of the easier monsters to fight, to the point it could be successfully hunted without any armour what-so-ever.

But my personal advice would be to find armour spheres and upgrade your Peco set. A stronger defence is always a good thing if you're not feeling that confident against your opponent!

Pro-tip for his flash. Roll right as the flash starts to take up your screen. This will allow you to roll through it without evasion +2
