| For hammer: first hit - .2(20%) .76(76%) total of .96 (96%)of total attack.
Great Swords: lvl 3 charge - 1.1 (110%)percentage of attack 1.3 sharpness multiplier/some kind of boost
lvl 3 smash charge - 1.15(115%) 1.3 sharpness multiplier/some kind of boost
The percentages may look small(if you were asking for numerical damage differences), but they're not. If you compare a regular slice, it's .48, I believe. no extra boost. A GS lvl3 charge ain't a joke.
The superpound for hammer is situational, really. It's mostly for knock-out purposes rather than damage accumulation.

| For comparisons, here's cutting an altaroth with the first Iron GS you start with.
Regular slice: 28 Upswing: 27 Sideslash: 21 lvl3 charge: 85
Basically 3x more damage in a smaller time frame than swinging 3 slashes.
The difference won't be much greater on other monsters, because they have defense zones, while Altaroth had just a 1.0 cutzone.
To put it simply: lvl 3 gs charge=greatness. :3
I forgot to check hammer lol brb
Basic iron hammer vs altaroth Superpound: 1st hit - 12 2nd hit - 45 total: 57
Triple pound combo: 1st - 31 2nd - 12 3rd hit - 39 Total: 82
