MH3U's Charm system Info (you will be perma-locked into a charm table)

This information is pretty old. What this basically is, upon starting a new character in MH3U, you will be locked into what is believed to be 1 out of 17 charm tables. This means that if you happen to be locked into table 7, that is the ONLY way you will be able to have a chance at an attack god charm. Other tables like table 10 are considered the best because that table is the only one with essential charms

In other words, once you start MH3U, the table you are locked in means you will NOT be able to obtain other charms besides that table. This is ridiculous.

maybe if they designed it so 1 badass charm wouldn't make 90% of sets good, then it would be better. But how it is now is get a +3 edgemaster charm, get a +5 handicraft charm, blah blah blah. Capcom is too lazy to REALLY do proper balancing. That's because they don't want MH to be a statistical game, they just want it to be fun, but it CANT be perfect when they don't pay attention to that.

@Vort: Past experiences with Capcom make readily apparent that their goal has never been perfection. If it was they would pay alot more attention to the empirical amounts of feedback from their fans, and all of their series of games would be better for it.

So from what I've read, it seems that most of the tables are geared towards certain weapon classes. I'll have to look these over to see which ones offer the most diverse array of useful skills.

I'm assuming that the skill point system is identical to Tri (+10,+15, etc)?

sharpness +1 is only +10 now, but yeah pretty much the same

Oh, Noice!! From what I've researched so far, it looks like things haven't changed a whole lot, Just a helluva lot more monsters, armors, etc. I see they've made it a little more difficult to obtain the Evasion skill right off the bat. No worries, I want it, I'll get it!

not really, just get volvidon armor all the way to G rank and you have easy evasion +1 attack up M

Yeah that's kinda my plan. Not as easy as just beating down a few Turducken's for your first Evasion set like in Tri.

So I'm skimming over the Charm tables to try and decide which one to pick for my first character (Definite GS & Lance action), and have noticed changes in the skill and slot combos. What is considered a "God Tali" on this new system? Tri was fairly simple: A+7 OO, B+10 OO, etc. This one seems much more varied and diverse.

Yeah from looking over the tables so far, it appears that table 6 is going to accomodate my playstyle the best.

Just to let you know, I am in that table and I am thoroughly enjoying my attack +10 tenderizer+5 talisman.

I'm in table 9. I should enjoy my Tenderizer+4, Expert+9 tali but meh...

I'm on Table 3. I got a few really good ones so far...

Handicraft +4 Sharpener -5 ooo
Expert +10 Stamina +5 (marathon runner)
Protection +6 Attack +10
Charmer +7

...are the ones I use on most of my sets.
