So with the introduction of MH3U on the WiiU and with it's release looming closer every day we are getting more and more announcements on all the features it will offer. Some have been in in older MH games and have returned or redone and some are completely new...
So with all this I've decided to compile a list (good or bad) just to see everything in one place of all the stuff to exspect and how it works.
1.
Target Camera: The Target camera does not lock onto the monster as some misconceptions of it lead to believe. What it does is swing the camera around to which ever large monster you have it set to (if there are more than one large monsters in the area you can choose which one). This allows tou to quickly look directly at that monster without having to search for it. This feature was added to Monster hunter due to western player feed back.
2.
Voice chat: It was announced today that due to the popularity of the voice chat feature that will be in the Western version of MH3U there will be an update for the Japan Vesion as well to add it. The voice chat can be used on the WiiU game pad and via the mic and heard through the mic or TV and now (according to reports) Via a USB headset if you would like.
3.
Text Chat: MH3U has text chat through the WiiU game pad and Now through a seperate USB keyboard for those who use the Pro or Classic controllers.
4.
WiiU/3DS Multiplayer: This feature allows you to connect up to 3 3DS' to the WiiU wirelessly to play local multiplayer.
5.
3ds <-> WiiU Save Transfer: Save games created on either system can be transfered back and forth (on the 3DS via a seperate download program via the eshop) to allow you to use your characters either on the wiiu online and on your full size tv's in full HD or on your 3DS on the go in 3D without having to have new characters for each system.
6.
Controller options: Both versions of the game uses the gamepad/3ds touch screen to add full customizable options to allow each player to set up the touch screen to their likeing both versions also add other play options as well. The 3DS and 3DSxl will also offer a seperate attachment, Circlepad Pro, which will add a 2nd slide pad and additional back buttons. The WiiU version will Not only give you the option to use the game pad by its self but you can also use it alone or in combination with the WiiU pro controller or the Classic controller. This allows for players to decide which method is best for them.
7.
Player Guild Card: When playing with others online you can tap on the touch screen on your WiiU pad of the name of any other player to Veiw their Guild Card with information such as Equiped Armor, Weapons, Monster Kills and additional information. You may also share information. With the 3DS you can StreetPass for others Guild Cards.
8:
Freiends requests: Once you have played with someone on MH3U (this does apply to other online games as well) or while ingame spacifically for MH3U you can add/Request someone to join your friends list on your WiiU.
9.
3DS Streetpass: Those with the 3DS version of the game will be able to activate streetpas allowing to seend and recieve GuildCards. This gives basic information about your Hunter, time played, armor and weapon most used and other information as well.
10.
3DS Location search: This works bests in large groups, public areas or at events. It searches the area for other 3DS players with MH3U to see if there are any open games available.
11.
Room Setup: MH3U offeres several features when creating new rooms. You can now "Password Protect" a room to allow only friends to enter, Name a room a spacific name (I like MHWikiForum), And the person who creates a room (or first enters it) esentually becomes the Operator of that room. They have the power to "Kick" people from that room if they choose.
12.
3DS online play:(available at launch) It has been announced that the 3DS version of MH3U will support online play through the use of the WiiU. You may do this with or without having a copy of MH3U for the WiiU. With a copy you can just joing the current WiiU player through local play online. Without the game the use a LAN adapter is required. As well as a download program from the WiiU eshop that will be available around launch here in the west.

GamePad only Play: You can transfer the Game to "Gampad Only PLay" allowing you to (as with many other WiiU games) to play MH3U without having the TV turned on at all. This will also eliminate the touch screen feature as well.
14.
Cross region play for US/EU: Further updates will also allow the US and EU regions to play together online (if they choose to do so.)
(Updates for #'s 13 and 14 will not be released until April at this time once the Game is released in both regions)
15.
DLC: : DLC will included event quests as well as Items for the Shakas, Armors (full sets and pieces), and weapons. DLC will start on a regular basis until all items have been distributed. once this is completed it will then begin to cycle back around.
16.
Offline to online HR points: Though HR rank does not appear when playing offline and does not revert to the "Tri" system until after you beat the 9* port/guild quests once completed you will begin earning HR points for each port quests you complete. This is regardless of being online/multiplayer of offline on the 3DS. Once you do decide to go online all the points you have earned will automatically update. This may show a dramatic jump in some peoples HR if they spend a lot of time offline hunting solo on the port or if they play the 3DS version and later go to the WiiU version to play online.
17.
All Access Quests: All monsters and quests are able to be accessed both on the WiiU and 3DS offline. Some monsters will be spacific to the Village Quests, Port*, and Event quests and an internet connection will be requiered to download the event quest but you will not need to go online or start an internet connection to access the Port/Guid quests or event quests once downloaded.
*Port quests are where you access the Local Multiplayer/Event/Online Section of MH3U. It is a new area in MH3U called Tanjia Port which replaces LoLac from Monster Hunter Tri.
18.
Day/Night FreeHunt: Before FreeHunting in the MogaWoods (offline) you can now "Choose" to hunt during the day (regular monsters/gathering) or at night (high ramk monsters/materials.) Barroth, Great Wroggi, Brachydios, Great Baggi and Black Diablos can all now be hunted at night in Moga woods during free hunt.
19.
Basic Start: In MH3U you will start with the Basic Full Leather Set as well as one of every basic weapon type in your item box.
20.
Hunters for Hire: In the 3DS version when you StreetPass another 3U player with streetpass activated you will recieve their guild card. this will allow you to see information about the play and send them on quests for you which if successful they will bring you back items.
