Monster Hunter Ultimate loading speed - Important to know before you buy

There are two methods of purchasing Ultimate

- Normal physical disc
- Digital download

Now from the digital version you can store the download in one of two places

- Internal memory
- External memory (USB storage)

There is however a difference in the loading speed for the games, at first you might say "Yeah? Who's gonna notice anyway?"

Well for starters Monster Hunter has many loading screen between each area. Typically on a map moving from area to area can take up to 3 seconds. A japanese site has already begun discussing load speeds for each version as found here.

Digital downloads stored and played on the internal memory perform faster, up to x3 the loading speed of both USB and disc play.

It's also important to not that the WiiU Basic model will not be able to download and run Monster Hunter Ultimate from internal memory as stated by Capcom.

Will this affect your purchase? Will this hinder some online players? If you've played for 500 hours how much of that was waiting at a load screen?

I got to G Rank on MHFU without data install so loading speed doesn't matter much to me.

Also, you have to remember that there has been several updates recently for game additions and improvements (some known, some may not all be known) so keep in mind... Again until "3U" the western version is released we may not know completely how everything will be compared to the japanease 3G version which is slightly different on some things. Even ever so slightly. As far as anything dealing with downloading or anything dealing with loading speed I don't thing that would change.

But overall it is good to know about external memory and digital downloads as that may be true for most games, so thanks!

But overall the loading speed differences will be almost unnoticeable and internal memory on the WiiU will be taken up quickly so... It's still best just to use an external drive. A good one though.
