| As I mentioned in the Hunting Journal, I have already beaten the quest the requisite three times to get the mats needed for the Jaggi Mask.
I never took down Quru during the quest, though - is there any bonus (besides points) for slaying it, also?

No, there isnt. Just some peco carves + a few items in reward box, money and points. Nothing else.

| Thanks.
One more thing:
Would I benefit from having possibly two or three extra Jaggi heads in storage?
In other words, can they be used to make something besides the Jaggi Mask?
I already have the Jaggi Mask, but would like to know if there is some weapon or other armor piece that requires Jaggi Heads?

| as far as I remember you can't make anything else except the useless mask, that will only help you to not getting help, especially if your only skill will be 'good luck' when you wear it | |

| As always with doing quests, defeating any monsters on the side will yield you the carves, the broken parts, and the possible capture rewards. Alongside some points, that's it. For this reason, people tend not to go and kill any monsters when it's not required, it's just far more effective to do a separate hunt and get more rewards from that.
One exception for me would be low rank Jaggi, right at the start of the game. A lot of things needs king's frills, and i don't want to spent more time hunting him than i need for his other materials. So every time one runs into another quest, i cut the head while he's roaring. But it's mostly just wasted time.

| You'll need 5 Heads to overforge the Mask when you get to high rank.
EDIT: As for free hunting, it's common when you get access to a monster that wouldn't normally be available in that tier. For example, free hunting Rathian during Peco quests in LR/offline, or Jho in HR online. That's worthwhile, getting access to weapons above your current tier can really speed up hunts.
Otherwise, I may take the time to break a key part, like Win32 does with the Jaggi Frill (I always seem to be low on Peco's Flintstones).
