What do I need (weapon and armor) to clear Siren's Song

I am literally at my wit's end over Siren's Song.

It is a six-star quest, where you need to "Survive until time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket."

However, I read that if you just let time run out, you will fail the quest.

In order to get the Paw Pass Ticket to appear in the supply box, you must defeat two HR Qurupecoes, however.

I am wearing a full set of High-Rank Jaggi Armor and can wield either an Icicle Fang GS or a Wyvern's Perch GS.

What weapon and armor should I be wearing and using?

Since Quropeco is so mobile, I'd actually recommend something with a faster swing, like LS or DS. No matter what you do though, stock up on dung bombs.

I just finished making a Rimeblade.

Plus max out my Sonic and Dung Bombs.

The quest isn't required, is it? If it's not, I'd just skip it till you have G rank weapons, unless you are playing on a 3DS and don't want to get to G rank and solo it. Although soloing some G rank monsters might actually be easier than that quest, considering the DevilJho is always a tough fight if you haven't fought him before, and he's still tough even if you have fought him before when you are fighting something else that's in the area.

You don't really need any special armor or weapon in particular, just use equipment that you would normally fight Qurupeco with. What you probably SHOULD bring however is lots of items. Flash bombs, traps, and dung bombs in particular for getting rid of called monsters.

Actually, as I posted on the Hunting Journal about an hour ago, I beat the quest!

I believe I got lucky - I managed to bash Quru and stop his calls.

I also believe I got lucky, at least with Quru #1: he only summoned a Rathian, and as I said I stopped any further cries for assistance.

For HR/G Qurus, I recommend farming Screamers and Dung for Sonicbombs and Dungbombs. The more you prevent the Qurupeco from summoning another monster, the harder it becomes for it to do so. The second time I did it (I misread the quest requirements the first time) I used 5 Sonicbombs- but it gets significantly less expensive as you scale up to appropriate weapons.
