| I bought my WiiU and 3DS just for MH3U and I don't regret a single penny. MH3U has everything Tri had and more! If you're really iffy on buying it, do a little research, is there any other type of game or feature the WiiU has that you would use?
If you used the Wii for MHTri only, then switching to the WiiU would be the best choice seeing how Tri is officially dead. If you already have a 3DS, grab MH3U for that and play it then. If you decided to get a WiiU later on, you can transfer your save file over.

| Well sadly, if you want to continue to play online MH3U, and trust me, it's a blast.. then you should probably get the WiiU. I'd say most people that play it now got a WiiU to play MH3U, whether they got it just for that idk. But the investment is worth playing an awesome Monster Hunter. | |

| Well you're not really spending $350 for one game, unless you're actually planning to never buy another Wii U game. | |

| Ninty may have snuffed the Wii U's release; but that doesn't mean they won't make anything of it given a bit of time. By the end of the year (starting August I think) and going into next year there'll be plenty of games that'll make the Wii U purchase worthwhile.
Unless of course, you're into the whole console war thing, and are gonna pick up a PS4 or Xbox720. (or whatever its gonna be called) In which case you prolly won't wanna wait for good games that long and you might wanna consider not picking a Wii U up.

| MH3U is not the only game I have currently for the WiiU, however, I did pick up the WiiU, just because of MH3U. Like others have said, I don't regret a single penny spent on it. Hour for Hour, I have gotten my enjoyment out of MH3U. Even at $1/hour, I have more than gotten my money's worth out of the console and the game, and when it comes to entertainment, I have paid much more per hour. $8/hour comes to mind for a movie, or $20/hour for a good meal with friends.
If you have the money, and it will not be a burden, get it... but remember to keep your priorities straight. A game is a game, and if you have to sacrifice too much, then it is not worth it. Judge things well before the investment... entertainments wise, however, it is a good money vs time investment.

| I've been wondering the same thing, except for with the 3ds version. Since I just can't seem to bring myself to buy a wiiU for one game, how has solo hunting been for those of you who have played alot of tri?
And any reviews of that circle pad xl? I tried the demo with the screen dpad and man was that rabbit always behind me! I'm sure I would get used to it, but the extra control stick seems like it would be more comfortable to me.

| Like other people said before, consider MH3U a good moment to get a WiiU or 3DS. I really like Mario and Pokemon games, so I knew I had to get a 3DS/WiiU someday, but I was still having enough fun with the old games. But then MH3U arrived and since I completed MHFU and MH3 servers were shutting down, it seemed like the perfect moment to get it. Now, I'm enjoying the game since I still have 4 months before my school starts again :3
So, unless you really hate every other 3DS/WiiU game, get one asap with a copy of MH3U.
And for those solo hunters out there: soloing the game is possible, just be prepared to spend a little bit more time farming and fighting, because the City monsters have more health than the Village monsters. Generally, City monsters took my about 5-10 minutes longer than the Village Monsters.
So yes, solo is possible. I prefer soloing over fighting with random strangers, but I prefer fighting with friends over soloing. The 3DS is more suited to fighting with close-by friends, family or neighbours, the WiiU is more suited to fighting with far-away friends or just online friends or strangers.

| I have conducted this poll in a LOT of my groups when I first bought the game. I said, "Who here bought the WiiU JUST for MH3U?"
Everyone... and I mean every single person I have asked have said, "me."
I have yet to meet someone who bought a wiiU... then bought MH3u.
I bought wii U for 1 reason - Mh3u..... and it's worth it.

| .... I bought the WiiU and it had nothing to do with MH3U. No clue what people you have been talking to.
Then again I played the WiiU months before it came out and MH3U was announced for it. I also research systems and games before getting them. I don't just go OMG THE LATES SYSTEM THAT HAS THE BEST GRAPHICS BLAHBLAH BLAH.
As far as how the WiiU is currently doing.. I recall people talking about how bad the 3DS was and how wonderful the vita will do. Same thing with all other Nin handhelds and their rivals.... How has that gone this far? And how did it go with the Wii?
Each system, home or handheld is different and is not for everyone. Though 3u is a great game and I have had just about every western MH game released I would suggest doing research and learning about a system before ever buying it. And never get a system for just one game no matter how amazing it is like MH3U.

| yea unless its about to go out of style, i just picked up a ps3 for demons souls and MGS4, but what dcj is saying.
dont dont dont buy a console for one game because no matter how great the game is, one day you will be done with it, bored with it, or sick with it and you will be angry you just dropped all that $$$ for something you wont play again

| They are pretty much the same.
3DS = For solo play, no online capabilities unless you use a WiiU and the MH3U Relay Packet Tool.
Wii U- Online play, can switch to Gamepad only mode.
If you get both, there is the Data Transfer between systems.
Online is like Tri, at the menu you can Create/ Join/ Search for rooms. Limit searches. View Friends, Move to different Worlds/ Lobby.

| Also the 3DS does still have Multiplayer with Local Multiplayer....
(the wiiu has this as well but only with wiiu to 3DS')
Basically a WiiU or 3DS can connect to other 3DS' to play Local multiplayer... It can also search to see if others are within range (it does this automatically) and lets you know how many people are playing that you can joing and play with. This is great if you are in places with large crows or going to events...
As stated before all systems have advantages and disadvantages.. same goes for getting 3U on the WiiU or 3DS.
3DS has more portability but likely less people you can play with if you live in a smaller area..
WiiU more people to play with due to online but no portability.
as far as other games... Nintendo Handhelds will ALWAYS HAVE MORE GAMES THAN ANY OTHER SYSTEM... While home consoles with have the graphics and sound and so on..
