| So i can pretty much fight anything solo at G Rank except 2 things, Yian Garuga and Fatalis, im not expecting to fight the fatalis anytime soon but i need advice on what to use to defeat the G-Rank Yian Garuga Solo (with a felyne).
I have 3 combat Felynes and 1 Defensive Felyne, all level 20, i have a Strk Mainlyweap with shock trap, tru health flute, speedy recovery, Slsh scrapper with Atk up, affinity up & drg elem, Bomb lover with lrg barrel bomb, bomb str up & bomb dmg down and finally peace loving with armor flute, true health flute and def up.
I can pretty much make any weapon as long as it doesn't require Yian Garuga or Fatalis materials and i'm good with any weapon but hunting horn and gunlance.
So which of these felynes sound good, which armour and which weapon should i use?

| I would recomend an amor with wind resist and earplugs (dunno if you need them high-gradeor just normal). I'm a only GS user and I didn't have that much problems with him also GS (or Hammer) would be a good weapon because they are pure raw-dmg-weapons and garuga doesn't really have an elemental weaknes (except his back). be careful with the tail and try to sever it as soon as possible (it can't poison you without it). for the cats: one ofe the first two ( I personally would prfere the first one put only because I like the skills).
and else just hit him and dodge his attacks.

| Lol... don't be so reliant on felynes. Unless they have skills that affect you or the monster (armor/demon flute, shock trap) then they really stand no use but to steal the monsters attention for a moment or two. The peace lover sounds most useful though, with health and armor flute and def up so he can take more damage before the garuga focuses on you.
Three top weapons I'd say would be GS/LS (whichever you prefer, LS being easier), Hammer (KO is incredibly useful...), and Lance (if you REALLY have trouble surviving...).
Garuga is weakest to water, so here's a couple of weapon suggestions:
LS: Aqua guardian
Hammer: Juggernaut, royal lobster hammer
Lance: sea abyss
Google or search the wiki to find how to make those. Most of them are more than sufficient top beat a garuga.
If all else fails, traps, f-bombs (not like that...), and maybe a paralysis felyne would work wonders (idk how well cat paralysis works in mhfu, if at all, though)

Yian garuga is basically kut ku+rathian haha, so it makes sense. It's extremely tall though... if you run into a big one, or maybe even medium sized, you might not be able to hit its head with a hammer without traps

| Thanks for the help everyone, i beat the Garuga first try with the juggernaut, peace loving cats high hp and def let it be able to distract the garuga for long times while i attacked its body/legs, i attacked its head after it used fireball attacks. I even got a Long garuga ear and rejuvenated beak after the quest :D
@haruno This is the MHFU section, the MHF2 with added stuff such as a harder quests called G rank which is above high rank and felyne comrades that help you hunt. and weakest to water means its weaker to water than its weak to fire/ice/thunder/dragon.

| i think you got it rong this time haruno, water is it's main weakness ranging from 15 to 70% and it's higher than every other element on every hitzone. sounds good enough to use a water weapon rather than a raw one. | |

I have to agree with haruno this time. it's only elemental weakpoint is it's back, which you cant reach with meele weapons. and at this rank you can make (especially for hammer or GS) much stronger raw weapons than such with water element.

With garuga it's true he has a 40/70 water weakpoint but there's one big problem. The 70 water hitzone the back takes 10 impact/cutting. The 40 water hitzone the stomach takes 10 impact/cutting as well. So even if you do somehow get to it's back you're doing shit raw damage not to mention it'll bounce without esp. So in other words the elem weak hitzones take little to no raw damage and as we all know raw > elem always. So you're stuck 15/20/30 water hitzones. Nowhere near enough to warrant the use of a water weapon on garuga.
