My classic controller has recently messed up and I can't afford to buy a new one I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to use it. I have been using classic controller since November of 2010 and it's already 2012 so my mind has been hardwired to classic controller. I use every weapon but I mainly use longsword, lance, switch axe, sword and shield, and hammer. Any tips on how to make my transition smoother?

\Lancing is going to be the toughest to transition to because the counter is awkward to perform. The others are pretty simple to transition to.

Well for the wiimote you better hope your thumb is agile and long, because you are going to be moving from the d-pad to the - button in under a second, this applies for all. If you're pinned down shake as hard as you can.
I got more but I'm too lazy to say everything

I started with wiimote, don't worry you'll get used to it...
I would suggest make a new profile and play that with wiimote?

When i first played i didnt have the classic controller. So i looked in the manual to figure out things most of the time. Then i memorized it and played pretty good. The only thing that made me mad at times is when sometimes i would move the controller and it counts as an A button press, i even turned off the option and it still did it.

Anyways it takes more of getting used to except when you dont turn the controller enough to do a certain attack, and you do the wrong one, that got me many times. But you should do well, i got very used to the remote, then i got the classic controller like 2 weeks later, and i sucked at it, i thought it was horrible and the remote was better, but i got used to it and i do very good.

The one thing i really like about the remote is that you can get out of KO ALOT faster, and the mud and stuff just by shaking the remote

I can help with that character now,
But for the camera you push down an arrow on the d-pad not the nunchuk and the screen tilts. My favorite angle is the view when you're about 30 degrees above and behind the hunter

GS, SNS, and Hammer were the easiest weapons for my brother to use on the classic controller. LS was kinda easy, too, but he had some issues with the side slash, sometimes.

Using lance with classic controller seems extremely hard for me.

That is how I feel with once you learn lance relearning it becomes so hard

well I will talk about my opinions and I hope I don't get flamed, since those are my preferences after all.

Well I have the classic controller but still using the wiimote, because I like to have my hands free, and is not that hard to twist your wiimote sideways to do another kind of attack, I really prefer to use the wiimote when gunning.

If you have small hands, there should be no problem since the controllers were designed to children play too, since wii got a LOT of games designed exclusively to children.

it's all about practice, and since you looks like a smart girl, you will be like you was with the classic controller in no time, maybe even better!

And if I can give any tip, is to play with your hands resting on your lap, so your arms will not get tired fast, and it's easier to twist the control around!

well thatś in... my 2 cents on the matter.

It isnt hard to twist your hand, but the problem i had alot is if i wanted to twist it right to do an upward trust on lance, sometimes it would do a normal one, which really messed me up alot. The only thing i like on the remote is that you have vibration, and you can shake out of things way faster.

The easy fast shaking does help a lot!
I would like to contribute more but I can't think of anything to say

since the wiimote is really sensitive to movement and if u dont like accidental attacks, u kan always turn it off in the options menu ;)

Hmm...I used wiimote all my gameplay and ive never had any troubles o.O
My tip would be to mess around offline for a bit, until you get used to the controls. That way when you get online you wont have any major issues ^^
