How much content was removed from MH3U? (if any)

Looking at the Japanese event quests, we still have more event quests coming up with event items. The Rust Duramboros event quest was supposed to give an armor set, not duals swords. I was wondering if the developers decided to just throw out a lot of content, never to be obtained?
