| ^With all the catching I do, I might want to look into making that set now... My brother's told me I need to get a trapping set together at some point /yes/ Tried "Descent into Hades" a few times... I found out about its Stygian Zinogre being ensured to be a crown, but I just can't seem to defeat it. I first tried with my Pyro Demolisher, but I timed out. I then got the last item I needed from an Abyssal in a surprisingly fast round of about fifteen and a half minutes, upgraded my Nether long sword to its last stage, Nether Dilemnity, and tried with that. Once again, time was the real enemy preventing me from a successful hunt. I tried talking to my brother to try to get him to help me with this quest while I was home, but he was stuck on another game and didn't. This quest just feels like it's taunting me somehow... I don't have that crown, yet it refuses to even have that monster limping to capture. Does anyone have any suggestions for a solo hunt of this quest, or is it one of those quests that're near-impossible without teammates? | |

I've done it, and gotten the award GS, however, it took roughly 20-30mins with a team of 4, so I'd suggest it's hard to complete unless you have a team - Hope this helps~

Thinking about playing more Gunlance. for gunlance, since it's my main weapon (Lances also), I usually go for Guard+2, but since you're planning on using Helios for Sharp+1 and HGE, I would go for Artillery Expert (Increases power of your Gunlance Wyvernfire and Shells) and maybe Guard+1 if you have a good talisman... Just my input, but usually people will use Agna Z armour (G Rank Glacial Agna) for Guard, Mind's Eye and Guard Boost skills, with an optional skill (Mine is evasion) but you can choose whatever skill you fancy. - Hope it helps

Well, this is what I was starting to think, in a way, that I probably couldn't solo it due to time... Too bad I don't really have a team, just my sis who wouldn't be able to do this very well yet and a brother who's stuck on another game :/ Thank you for letting me know, though. Definitely helps to know this
Planning on hunting after classes today to see if I can find more of my missing crowns... So close, yet so far.

If you are going to use a water weapon, I'd go with the High rank Vangis Waist. That gives you the normal skills plus Water Atk +1. And it doesn't look quite as bad (Yes, I actually go for looks almost before I go for skills. Okay, not quite). With the Vangis Waist, you will have one less slot than if you used the Helios X Coil (I'm actually not sure if you have one or two less slots actually).

Only got the Helios set to go into G-Rank easier. Besides, Goldbeard isn't that hard to fight and I got a lot of money from him.

| Last night I had the most exciting hunt I've had in ages, just myself and my usual hunting buddy (plus our off-siders)
Back in Tri we used to duo Ala in around 20 min without issues, hadn't done Ala for a while so I post up the event version (figured we could do with the challenge)
Probably should have had a warm up cause I was Ala's punching bag for the first 10 min or so, 15 min in and I'm down to a couple of megapotions (having already combined my backup potions + honey), lifepowders, horn and 1 max potion. Around there I thought we wouldn't last much longer, but it seems I do better under pressure. Start being a bit more cautious and take less hits.
40 min in and I use my last max potion, horn broke and everything else gone, had been feeding Cha Cha steak to keep his stamina up so he could dance more, my buddy has 1 max potion left as well, and I was just wondering whether we'd run out of time or die first, we'd both carted once already. We'd got the tail but horns and wings we're still unbroken.
Ended up bringing Ala down with about 5 min left to go, we were both :D if it wasn't for having Cha Cha, and health horn with us we wouldn't have made it. If you're interested, we were both in St Zing armor using Ala weapons, me lancing and him LS.

| Taking my time with HR, slowly towards 999. Few days ago i found Unscathed+3, Steadyhand+3 tali. Unfortunately it turns out it's pretty much useless. If only Silver Bullet was CE+3/AuL+Pierce/Pellet/Normal up it would be pretty good skill. What was Capcom thinking?
Also some crazy shit happened on one of my 4pt runs. On 2nd phase (g.narga and s.bari) after defeating g.narga it booted me immediately to save screen. It skipped delay time entirely, straight to save screen. Really weird, no dc.

| Finished a set of LR Wroggi Armor yesterday, and am using it to farm Gigginox.
First, I like the "cowboy" look of the stff.
Second, it has Razor Sharp (which I like) and Negate Poison (ideal for farming Gigginox!)
I've also carry a set of Bloodwings - I love these things, and I've poisoned Gigginox with these things.
However, I'll stop farming him once I get that second Fearsome Maw and can upgrade to Bloodwings +.

Wow, that's weird. I once had a weird time when I was with a group of random people. We were one our 3rd monster out of three monsters. While we were waiting, we placed some bombs around where it would land. When it finally appeared, I pulled out my Swax, swing it, and it killed the monster in one hit, breaking everything on the A. Los. (It didn't cut the tail though). No one else was around, so it was my one hit that ended up killing the Rathalos. And since I knew for a fact that I didn't hack, I was stumped.

| I've seen that one hit kill as well, seems to be something to do with getting a hit in before they land.
Last night I finally got my big Jho /rock/
Was just about to call it quits for the night when some random comes in and said they've a seed they wanted to try. Did also have one of the most annoying noobs in the room as well, so I kicked him as I didn't want to risk him dying during, the other random had a HR higher than me so wasn't worried about them. That was actually the 4th time I'd kicked that guy, it rather funny cause he'd keep coming back saying 'it was a bug', even after I told him it wasn't. Really not to bright.

| With my netbook getting repaired, seems I'm about to return to serious crown hunting. Crimson Qurupeco's definitely on the list, along with Zinogre, which will be "Cloudless Thunder," when it shows. Time to watch my hunt count on them rise once again. | |

Congrats! That one is very hard for pretty much everyone who attempts it (I got one without trying to once, so now I have my G. Crown large forever!). - Enkidu wrote:

| Found out how easy G-rank Nargacuga are to kill when using a bow. Using a fully upgraded Arko Tri (Y) with full Zinogre with Thunder Atk +2. I sleep it once and use 2 Large Barrel Bomb+s then the rest is dodging and shooting. Managed to kill my last one using only 2 Mega-potions. Now to keep killing them till I get 2 Mantles. Shouldn't be harder than trying to get Rathalos mantles. (At least I have 3 chances to carve a Narga Mantle, rather than the 1 chance of mantle from Rathalos' tail)
Almost forgot, the last Narga I killed was a 21 minute solo, which I think is pretty fast for me.

| Did the event Brachy at least 5 times today, failed on every run, my team comprised of... a HR 999(my mate), HR 535 (me) HR 518(friend of the HR 999) and a random and everytime it was the random that died, the person bowing was pro and always evading, never took a single hit, I tried keeping both myself and the random alive, I carted 15mins in, due to a 6 hit combo (I managed to evade most of it, just the final two hits) I guess that reinforces not to trust a random...
Gonna eventually do the event brach one last time to get that hammer whilst I hunt with friends, and have a good time whilst I try to get to HR999
