Pointless topic is pointless but yeah, after Power watching a bunch of trailers and some gameplay on Twitch TV of people playing MH4, we seriously need an announcement or confirmation on if we are ever getting this.

I actually enjoy reading everything though, lack of reading would ruin the experience for me. Also I'll just wait for the localization, just a bit impatient is all.

Also I don't have things to sell, if I bought anything besides a MH or Metroid game title, it'd be a brand new computer with parts hand picked from Newegg, as I intend to get into uber high end streaming once I have the computer.

MrPogo... That is hardly productive.. You are sugesting we support the Japanese gaming industry and show the industry how much we want them to make and keep games in Japan. Great Idea (<--sarcasm) NO, the best option is to 1: Support the current MH games that are out (we are doing that by having a massive hunt day on February 14-17) 2: Verbally but in a possitive manner let the companies that matter know we want these games (capcom and nintendo) by supporting fan site such as this one and posting on their own sites and on message boards such as the MiiVerse. 3. Petitions don't work.. running nude through the streets with MH4 for the west does.. try it!

Well I guess if you are into reading through everything then its probably no good for you. I usually skip the story. Its just about team hunts for me.

I did suppport the current monster hunter games. I supported and bought MH1, MH2, MHG, MH Tri, MH3U. All the freedom series. I owned MHP 3rd on PSP.
I now own MH4 on 3DS. They have had an uber amount of support from me.
The fact is, I wanted to hunt online but I didnt want to buy a crappy WiiU to do it. I had MH3U on 3DS and sold it because of its lack of online play.
I think the best thing is to actually support Capcom by buying a Japanese 3ds and MH4 because the company is in a financial nightmare right now. If things go the way they are heading then there is no way this game will get a western release. This might even be the last monster hunter game if Capcom go under so think about that......

Nintendo not capcom is the one localising MH4 outside japan and doing all the marketing.. as they did with tri/MH3U... So buying the Japanese version of MH4 you are doing very little to nothing as it is not putting your money towards those who are localising the game or marketing it in the firstplace.

Also the crappy wiiu is a great system and as a proud owner of both versions of MH3U I am very happy playing online with my crappy wiiu and crappy gamepad ;)and all the crappy games out so far.

Also.. capcom's profits were down overall by down 49 percent only this year... if you base that market wide.. well than sony, microsoft and many other gaming companies should have gone under long ago. Overall the profits made by SF, RE, MH and several other franchises world wide have and will continue to keep capcom floating.

(Also, current MH games are MH3U not those others you mentioned). It's sales of the game that is gurrently out that dictate the need/want for a game in particular region not older ones unfortunately.

Capcom have 153 million in the bank. Thats like being on welfare in the games industry. I really dont think Capcom will take the chance of a western release because if it goes badly then the company ends. Its as simple as that

That doesn't make sense though. Tri was a major hit with Western and European gamers, 3U an even bigger hit for those who have a Wii U or 3ds, and on the 3ds end it's pretty much the only game with cooperative play, let alone of such high quality. It's sold well again during the holidays too, and the fact that MH4 is the biggest and fastest selling MH yet in Japan on the 3ds, there's NO reason we shouldn't get it and if we don't it will be a major disappointment.

^ gaming industry doesn't work exactly the way you have described. Both Nintendo and Capcom profit from the games. Also one of the reasons Capcom moved MH to nintendo in the first place is because Nintendo pay for the cost of localising, marketing and distrabution in a lot of areas. So outside japan though capcom still controls MH overall they have very little out of pocket exspense. Also.. Bank money is not where most of a companies wealth is at. if so there would be few if any gaming companies at all. Look at sony who has not actually had huge positive earnings in the gaming market in years and the playstation side of their company relys on their other endevors as well. Most profts have only increased very recently, same with xbox. With individual gaming companies sega and so on.. well they often run on very little "bank" money but get funded depending on what game they are developing and who they are developing it for.

In the case of MH4 there is no doubt that it will recieve a western release. it's too profitable for both Nintendo and capcom. Also being the 10th year of MH it's likely they wont pass up the oppertunity to promote it highly. Capcom also has several other MH games releasing this year as well.

Also you have to realize that MH4 has already been localised outside Japan by nintendo and other MH games releasing are in the process of being formated for other regions as well. The thing is here in the west Capcom has always been protective of the series even against their US/EU offices. For MH3U the western Capcom units weren't even allowed to announce the games in their own regions. CapJap even went as far as refusing any information until they decited to make the announcement themselves. Several Capcom US employees had been very frustraited for a while over all the restrictions placed on them leading up to 3U and even up to the release in the west they were no allowed to have any information on changes to the game.

To further that.. Capcom US struggled to be able to release the 3DS/xl cases for MH3U they did because of no suport from Capjap as i understand it. Though they were allowed too it was a few that worked in the office there like Yuri that did all the work to make it happen.

So don't think we won't get MH4.. just know that CapJap will hold it to them like Golum and his precious until we do.

I dont know how you can be so sure that its being released in the west. Lets not forget monster hunter portable 3rd never saw a release outside Asia.
I waited and waited for that and it never arrived so I imported. I wasnt going to make the same mistake by waiting for something that may never arrive in the west and that is why I imported MH4.
I hope it does get a western release but just like MHP3 there is no guarantee. So to absolutely say its being released is presumptuous. It comes across more as though you are hoping rather than you know for sure.

wai..whuuu? You're compairing MHp3rd on the psp (sony) to MH4 on the 3DS (nintendo)

Do you know absolutely nothing about the situation between sony and capcom at the time and what lead up to them not making MH for psp/vita for the next several years at all?

In fact vita won't be getting a main series games but will recieve MHFg but only because it's on multiple systems and not an exclusive....

Lots of games aren't released on one system in one regioon and not another. You are missing the point and obviously don't know why p3rd was not released in the west.

capcom had spoken with sony and agreeed to p3rd's localization, however they requested that it be on sony to do so. Sony refused.

Capcom went to Nintendo who did agree to market, localize and so on.

You are comparing diffrrent games with different politics. If you want to compare games equally they should be the same series and from the same game system.
