Mario Kart 8

So I just got the game today. There really isn't much to it. It's fun for a short while.

They are still doing that stupid crap online where you lose points for disconnecting.

The bikes have been nerfed ( the last kart game I played was Mario Kart Wii). They don't have the tight drift anymore. The karts and bikes in general aren't too appealing, and their stats aren't satisfying.

It's a great party game. I'd give it a 7.5/10. Not much lasting appeal for me.

Isn't there a new item that stops Blue Shell? It's the only reason I'd get MK8. Cuz Blue Shells are my bane.

Yeah, it's called the super horn. It releases very powerful sound waves that destroy any incoming things. You used to be able to escape blue shells with bananas and mushrooms, but now you can't anymore. Blue shells hit you from the front.

Anyone know how Miis are selected? I thought it was just my favorites in the Mii Maker, but that isn't the case.

It's actually a physics exploit in Mario Kart Wii. If a blue shell is about to hit you as you're falling down, you can drop a banana to hit the blue shell, and it will explode without hitting you.

Yeah I unlocked it. The Miis it chooses for you to select from seem to be random. Even un-favorited miis appear along with favorited miis not appearing.

Tested out Mario Kart TV. Works out pretty nice. I wish you could add the slow-mo and rewind/fast-forward options as well as the video being in 1080p. Other than that, I'm excited for how this could be expanded upon in the future.

Also... fuck that boomerang.

I really hate split screen. I can't see what's in front of me so I crash a lot. I also hate the fact that you have to watch the credits EVERY TIME you beat the special cup. I almost have a gold and three stars in everything but I really hope I get three stars in the special and lightning cup or else I have to watch the damn credits every time.
