| Hi. I'm wondering something about elemental vs raw damage, with reference to this wiki: http://www.gamefaqs.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57318If 1 point of elemental = 0.70 raw damage then it states raw damage is more effective. However, IS this taking into account the base damage level for the weapon itself? E.g. a weapon with 550 base and 320 ice, 1 point of elemental = 0.70 for rathalos, but is the TOTAL damage given the sum of elemental damage + the base damage? Thereby making the elemental weapon more effective? Total noob question but I'm confused. Thanks guys | |

| Raw > Element Unless its sword and shield or duals
Lances and longswords are best used with a good balance of both (with a element appropriate for each monster of course)
Element is worthless on a greatsword.
For bowguns it depends what you're trying to make.
For bows Exterminator bow II > all

| Ok.
I just had a look at an faq which explained the formula, and it stated elemental damage adds to the total damage dealt alongside the raw attack power.
So do you mean point for point elemental damage isn't as effective? But obviously if the raw and elemental is higher then that gives a significant advantage?
