...in four out of five games the first gym leader is a rock type leader. You can rape them in one shot with grass.

And in red, the first gym is 4x weak to grass, the second gym is 2x weak, and the third gym does half damage to grass. The fourth gym is grass type, so grass is resistant to it, but it doesnt do much back. Still. Your argument is pretty much wrong.

Grass is always cool.
In Diamond, it destroys the first gym.
And, Torterra is awesome. Grass/Ground? Awesome!

I always go for grass, see, me and my best-bro "divided" the pokemon elements xD (yeah nerdy but hey, fair share must be had in everything or else fighting is in order).
And that's mostly it, altho i always prefered the grass starters over the water and fire.
My first was in Red and from that point on i played them all except Black/White.

red:charmander(btw this was the last pkm game i got )

Elemrald:mudkip/torchic(i restarted the game a few times like some of the others)
firered:squirtle(i have restarted the game & had all of them)
colosseum:espeon & umbreon
Xd:eevee but i evolve it to jolteon

platinum:piplup/turtwig
heart gold:totodile(but i used all of the starters in my run thanks to diamond)
black:snivy
white:oshawott (best 5 gen starter i think O.O)

there others i think but meh theres lots here already

I forgot o add xd. I used eevee and evolved it into umbreon.

Pokemon Red version I chose....Charmander, like all the cool kids. But now I'm all about the water starters, man.
