| I think I skipped way ahead there... There are "multiplayer only things" this has been confirmed but it is streetpass items and a few other things that while nice is not neccesarily "multiplayer" or needed. As far ad event quests and everything else. Like the Stated G rank quests I mentioned they are all accesable to single players as well.
The Incentive to play Multiplayer and the multiplayer only stuff would be the streetpass and possibility of "trading" that has been hinted at in some articles. As well as those mysterious touch screen icons we still do not know what they do.... But we will see.

| For Monster Hunter Tri G i really don't see the point in multiplayer, I mean The 3DS is a portable device, meaning you would probably play it away from home (like in the car or out in public) where you won't have access to Wi-Fi and since you can access all of the content without multiplayer you don't need the multiplayer | |

| True but that doesn't mean you won't ever play it indoors EVER. I rarely play on portable consoles outside as it's kinda anti-social and screen glare is a bitch. Regarding your other point though, Wifi hotspots are popping up more and more these days. I doubt connecting would be a massive problem.
But yeah; with or without, I'm fine either way. I have a friend who's pretty competent at Monster Hunter now, and he already has a 3DS so I'm good. ^^

If you can solo the entirety of unite you are a monster hunter god Alot of people on this forum did, yet alot of people consider them completely "normal" players. I solo'd all of Unite except for Ukanlos and the G rank elders/Fatalis trio. I haven't even unlocked G rank Fatalis trio yet, lol.

| I'm most likely gonna solo Tri G, I just hope it's as hard as everyone says Unite is.
Monster Hunter seems to be an odd game series, in that you can grind quests in Tri for a millennium and get HR 999, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're any good at the game as a whole; just those quests you grinded.
The other games seem to be similar, but instead everyone who solos them insists they aren't at least above average at the games...

0_o Same here, I hope it's really hard, 'cause tbh Tri was a bit too easy for me, you don't really have to be awesome to get to HR 51. Once you've passed that, after a while some monsters just become toys for you (Deviljho for example, he gets so easy with endgame equipment and evade). The reason why most of them don't insist they are awesome is because modesty is a indicator of intelligence (not always, but very often imho), and you need a certain of grade of intelligence to solo trough a game like Freedom Unite. Correct me if I'm wrong here...

| i still think unite's difficulty is mostly fake difficulty: being oneshotted by a sneeze isn't hard, it's cheap.
tri in that regard was much easier but definitely more balanced, i really hope tri g will be a very tough game whitout having to resort to cheap stuff like taking half your health off with foot damage.

I agree with this, MHFU had me ragequitting for lengthly periods of time sometimes because of the cheapness of a certain monster. Tri, IMO had the most fair difficulty of all the games in the series and it would be nice to see this continued with Tri G's G rank. I'd rather see new movesets over buffed damage.

| you should try to solo gou lunastra, it's basically the same as teo except it almost never stops between attacks, it easily kills you in 1 hit in rage, barioth looks like a snail to how fast the thing runs and to top it off under 30% health left it insta-rages like a blos. oh and for those unfamiliar with gen2 it's a solo only monster woot!
you need it cheaper than this? when it enters rage it instantly change attack with no tells: superpounded her face like a boss? expect her to rage and start charging you before you can even roll on a side for a nice 85-100% of your health. that is if it was even maxed because of powered up to 11 flame aura wich is as fast as lava.
that's absolutely not how you make a fight difficult, just cheap. (that said it's still fun, i'm that close to a success but when it starts insta-raging i'm done for)

Very true I s'pose. (I don't really know, I've never gotten to that sort of stage in anything to experience it xD) - quidam wrote:

Well wouldn't balancing fix that? Since apparently most of the hit-boxes were broken all to hell in Freedom and Freedom Unite, couldn't simply fixing those (like in Tri I'm guessing) but keeping the general level of difficulty achieve that? ... Or something... But yeah if you decide to kick an Uragaan, you deserve all the broken foot you get.

| "Capcom screws up" What the hell? Do you know how hard would it be to program a game with that much graphics and variables as MH, on a portable console? It never happened, and it's not gonna happen anytime soon. Sure, there are fighting games on 3DS right now, but that's completely different. | |
