Why is there no thread of this?

Oh well.

Skyrim is the newest game of the Elder Scrolls series of Bethesda Softworks.
The Elder Scrolls games are Action RPG's set in a huge world offering a very large amount of quests.

Well, look up some trailers and gameplay and stuff. It's worth getting. Release is in 7 days, on 11/11/11.

Almost got all of the Darrick artifacts on my warrior character, after that I'm just gonna finish out the story line and see what else is left.

Btw, has anyone noticed that the elder scrolls online looks like its gonna be a huge let down? I know it's what everyone's been asking for, but I don't think this is how we wanted it to be delivered. Looks a lot like wow to me...

With the twin soul perk, can I summon 2 of the same kind of summon? like 2 Deadra lords?

I've just finished what I think to be a satisfying playthrough of Skyrim.

Sure there are plenty of side quests left to do, but I've covered all of the guilds and such, and the main story line, as well as a number of the side quests, and at this point I'm pretty OP, so I think I'm going to retire my Orc character.

Next I think I'm going to try the High Elf and take the mage route.

It's one of many in-jokes. Sheogorath's "fishstick" comment is also an in-joke.

Dremora Lords. And yes, that's what the perk does.

Speak for yourself. Skyrim exceeded my expectations. My 426 hours of playtime is proof of that.

bethesda games have two problems:

1. fighting systems are always sort of bland
2. bugs and glitches

other than that they make very fun games.

That is totally true, but who cares about combat when you can just explore the beautiful world they always seem to be able to create, and bugs and glitches always seem to be fixed by unofficial patches on PC (but if you play on a console, you're screwed)

nice graphics are a dime a dozen, immersiveness is where games really hits home. Fallout has a lot of things that break immersion (DLC is better for this, but a lot of aspects of fallout games mess up the immersion, like the fact that the weather never changes or things like that). Skyrim was quite a bit more immersive than any other Bethesda game yet, so they seem to be improving. Glitches are very immersion breaking though.

Also, it's hard to get immersed when you can just wail on people with your sword and they can't do anything about it.

And the sneak is so op you can tbag NPC's and they wouldn't know it. (Assuming you put a lot of perks into sneak and leveled it up)

In Fallout this is true, but in The Elder Scrolls, there is magic, maybe you are upgrading your magical ability to sneak?
