What i particularly hope they will do is have action parts in the China portion of the game (Chris Redfield's view) and have survival-horror parts with good old leon (more resident evil 4'ish)
this would make for a well rounded game.
I really loved RE4, and i really hope they take a brick from that structure they build up and lodge it into the castle formed by the success of RE5. RE5 sold a lot, but undoubtably RE4 was a more innovative and more fitting game. I think if RE6 took the good parts from both games it could truly be even better than RE4. There has to be parts where you are NERVOUS of what is going to attack you. Not just knowing you can blow its head off instantly. You have to be challenged for ammunition and such, as in RE4, and much much more as in the earlier games. (Ever played RE1 or zero? You are 90% of the time just barely having enough ammo to kill the thing that attacks you, let alone heal and maintain yourself.)
Also, i hope they bring back the carrying-box inventory system. That was an unbelievable method of putting restrictions on what you can carry. Loved it.
i am more excited for leon's part because it looks like its going to be scary again. The RE series is pretty much the reason i became a fan of the genre. Its good to see them bring it back somewhat because it seems the series has took a action route now. Dont get me wrong 4 had some scary moments, but didnt feel nowhere near as scary as the first 3. Its still a great game though and i did enjoy it same goes with 5. I miss the running out of ammo, hell i even miss the ink ribbons it made it so you really had to think to survive. I loved the trailer to it had such a chaotic atmosphere to it.
I agree with both of you on this. The first RE I played was 2 for the N64. You were starved of ammo right from the beginning. It was awesome and an instant hook. RE4 is definitely one of my favorite games of all time, but it was still to easy to get ammo. Never played 5, but saw much online. It seemed too much of a departure from the series. I do understand the need to update and not provide the exact same experience, but it seemed that Capcom went a bit too far on 5. I think if you add some of the action horror from 5 into 4 and throw in a heap of item starvation from the others, you'll get a great 6.
Do you think this will get released for the Wii U? I think it would be a mistake if they didn't. I understand why they wouldn't announce it yet. E3 is going to be big this year.

If you watch the trailer, the end only had Xbox 360, PS3 and a ater PC game on it. I was most struck by the lack of a PS Vita release for it.
The Wii U also has no release date, though if Nintendo stick to their original 2012 plan it'll probably be December.

I can kind of understand why they wouldn't mention a release date since they don't want to give any clue as to the release date of the Wii U. We'll see, I guess.
I wouldnt give up hope on it coming to the wii U or the vita. The RE series has a ton of ports especially on the wii the only one capcom didnt port was 5 and im guessin cause the system wasnt powerful enough to run it. Im no expert with how systems run but from the looks of the wii u and the vita they may be able to run RE 6. Also RE is one series that the stubborn company always seems to try and cash in on and i wouldnt be surprised if the game made it to the systems later on especally the Wii U since its a home console. If the vita doesent get it i can se it getting a exclusive RE.

That's my hope. I got concerned that the Wii U wasn't mentioned, but I thought that perhaps Nintendo made Capcom sit on that info until E3. This is where I expect we will find out the release date and what to expect software wise this year and next.
