| I have been on my PS3 and MW3 recently, but have an urge to hunt some monsters. Just wondering if the number of online players has fell from a steady steam of way over 1000 players online at all times, yet?
No point playing if there isn't a wide variety to play with, in my opinion.

| Well, the US Recruitment server still gets up to 800 players. | |

| What about for EU Servers? Would check myself, but my PS3 and xBox360 are in the way so it'd be too much hassle only to find out they were hardly used. | |

| Whenever I get on, (about 4-6pm onwards GMT+0) it's at about 1000. Most are complete idiots anyway, and since you're here on the forums, a better question would be; 'who here on the EU server isn't retired?' | |

| Wouldn't that cost more money than it'd be worth, and cause massive amounts of Lag and disconnecting? | |

Not necesarily. Since the servers are already physically in the same location (Japan). It might actually be cheaper to merge them(?) Of course there's the issue of administration and support, but I would imagine it could be solved somehow.

Of course there's the issue of administration and support, but I would imagine it could be solved somehow. Not all the servers are in Japan. Capcom is a multinational company and its headquarters lie in Osaka, Japan, and San Meteo, California. (Yes it has 2 HQs) They also have quite a few set-ups in Europe and across US too. So... The servers are different. That's why when a US Softmods to go to EU, there are significant lags sometimes when connecting to other people. Vice-versa.

| It's typically around 1600 in EU when I play.
But really, you are going to play with only 4 people at once, so why does it matter if it's say 800 and not 1600? It's not an open world MMO, you're not going to play with even 10% of them on any given session.

Its HQ is in Osaka, Japan. Capcom USA, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Capcom Co., Ltd. of Japan. Connections between players, and not the servers, are the most frequent reason for disconnects and lag.

Maybe he was a producer of the game and he was able to get the game pre-release?

| Seems like the amount of players online hasn't decreased much in a while... Suppose many are stopping playing whoever those who take offline slowly are only moving onto online, and because the price has obviously decreased, people may pick it up...
I'll connect my Wii back up and spend the rest of the evening hunting...
