That's right, thanks to auto guard you can now kill gold rathian/silver los in the dual quest. This is super dumb and I would much rather just beat em up then sit there and watch the screen for 40 minutes, plus dat helm..............

well, if that's what you want to do, then do you have to use auto guard? as far as I see it, all you really need for that to work is negate hunger and guard +2: Then you can just camp in the corner and hold the guard button. You don't really need all of that in order to be a dirty little cheater.
To anyone who will do this... Enjoy the pringles. Be sure to bring your curly mustache.

Meh, I wouldn't call this cheating, so much as being lazy in the hardest way possible. If I recall monsters do diminished damage towards each other which is why even with the constant barrage of attacks it takes 40 minutes for Rathlos to go down. I can see where this would be useful if say the game had a real tanking mechanic but meh, I'll just beat them down the normal way.

Was I the only one that was studying the graphics and thinking "Holy Alatreon, this looks so damn awesome!!!!"?

Soooooo... You use this method and the quest takes 40-50 minutes and constant monitoring and hoping that the Shakas keep you alize with their dances if you get bored and walk off.....

Or you just attack them as normal and kill them in say 20 minutes or less....

Also Will though there is unlike any changes between this and the actually western MH3U version, they may have adjusted some things like this a bit.. but I don't see why it would matter. Most people wouldn't waste thier time waiting for them to kill each other.

Well, I see several thinkgs with the Lagi exploit that still makes it.. pretty much the same as the Ian and los one and not really that big of a deal...

1: it restricts you to ranged weapons... and while there are a lot of people who use ranged weapons it may also restrict you furthure on which ones you can use as you don't have a lot of choices on you attack angle, range and so on.

2: You can still be attacked. maybe not as much but you can still get attacked and have to know when to dodge and when to attack..


In the end however to me it just seemed more like using the are as cover. Being able to hid behind something while you attacked... Maybe not a head on approch to fighting but not a terrible or any less time consuming than a regular fight for the most part..

But yea, in the end unless there are no negatives (which in both these videos there still are) these "exploits" just don't seem that big of a deal or all that worth it. Most people wont see the point in using them on these monsters shown as there are much quicker and more fun ways to take them down...

They clearly take no skill whatsoever.
I have pride in my hunting, therefore, I will kill any monster in the way that they was originally intended to be killed.

If you don't like the tactics you dont have to use them, but dont hate on iCEman, he's pretty cool. He didn't discover the exploits either, he's just showin how to do them for people who want to. And black lagi is pretty god damn hard to solo, to be fair.

It's a farming method, nothing more.

@CrystalPower: Whenever you need to farm Black lagi solo, and you get killed every time, and every quest is item intensive and time intensive as well as stressful. Come back to this post, and laugh at yourself.

But back on topic I think it's a cheap tactic yes and yes it is good for conserving items but look at it this way some people enjoy the struggle to farm rare items because in the end you feel like you truly earned it through long hours of farming or just trial and error. Not saying everyone feels this way but some people do not mind it. Others just want to rush for the best gear. To each their own try not to look down at others just for their tactics or opinions in the end it is just a game and we should enjoy it the way we see best for ourselves.

Everything in the two videos shown is extremely common knowledge and you don't seem to realise that. If you don't like it, don't use it or let other people know about it. Making this topic is having the opposite effect of what you want.

MH3G was kind of ignored over here. People only really started discussing it when Tri U was announced. So common knowledge or not it's new here. Where'd you find out about them anyways?

Type in any monster's name in Japanese with MH3G into YouTube. If you look hard enough, you'll find some good stuff. You can also find videos of people doing exactly what I've done way before I knew about it.

As iceman said it had been talked about before. I've seen it on Unity a while back and a few other places but no one really made a big deal about it. Both of the ones shown may save items but are still time consuming overall.

They may seem like "cheats" but their inefficient overall. I'm sure you'll see people using them but its not game breaking in any was as stated before.

Though its not (common knowledge) to most people it is known.

But honestly, why are people getting so butthurt? This happens in every game, EVER, there are always little loopholes and glitches to exploit in a certain way. No complex game like Monster Hunter can be perfect, to expect so is unfair, and to expect people to not seek out these exploits is kinda silly.

As others have said, you don't have to like it, just accept it.

Wasn't there some sort of Kirin exploit in one of the Monster Hunter Freedom games?

this method might be good for those who are struggling and want to advance in quests but dont need to be bogged down by dual or powered up monster quests or dont have acess to multiplayer (3ds version or no wifi).

Except for the fact that you need a high hunter rank to do both of these exploits and have to get the necessary equipment too...
You'll likely have more than enough experience by the time you unlock Gold/Silver and dark lagiacrus.
