| Hello all,
I've seem to run into a bit of a predicament. I've just acquired the Stygian Zinogre Blademaster set, and I simply love it. I wanted to turn it into a pseudo-Narga set, since I play Lance and Switch Axe. My problem is that I couldn't fit Evade Distance and Evasion +2 on the set without gemming off Recovery Down, which is by far one of the worst debuffs in my opinion.
I have a +6 Evade Distance talisman, and I know that a +6 Evade distance with a slot exists in my charm table. But until then, I'm stuck with a tough decision to make. After some research, it seems that Evasion +1 adds 6 frames of invulnerability while Evasion +2 adds an additional 2 frames, making it 8 frames and 10 frames, respectively.
Here's my question: is Evasion +2 even worth it? Or am I pining over a semi-useless skill?

| Evade+2 is nice, but ultimately it isn't hugely needed. While I love it, if I had to choose Evade+2, or Evade+1 and Evade Up, I'd sooner choose the latter. Evade+1 is generally considered plenty in 3U as it is. | |

| Yeah as i'm sure there will be many opinions here that evade+2 is useless blah blah blah because yeah evading doesn't require evade skills at all, we are so pro blah blah blah
It all comes down to player's preffered playstyle which is very personal issue. I can only tell what i'm comfortable with. As for me evade is very usefull when it comes to evading roars. With +2 you can evade pretty much all except Jhens. Raths seems really easy compared to +1. If you don't have earplugs/HGE it can save your ass many times.
As for evade dist. for me it's completly useless skill especially on swax or anything in general. Advice from me - ged rid of it and gem Evade+2 and something else.

| See, I was thinking about roar evasion when compiling armor, but the Lance can black roars, and even counter roars that don't require HG Earplugs. The switch axe is a completely different story though, and rolling through roars would be nice; ESPECIALLY against Rathalos.
Maybe I can do both, and just register both equipment sets.

| I find the Switchaxe really benefits from Evade Dist, because it's side-hops are extended as a result. | |

It depends. As for me evade dist. doesn't create any attack situations as oppose to evade skills. With evade dist. your main focus is to run out of monster range and by doing that - evade the attack, since it doesn't extend invulnerability frames it doesn't really support evading. With evade+1,2 you can easily glue yourself to monster (like jho) and attack all the time with small breaks for evading. I used evade dist. on my element gunner set in Tri. It was ok for creating the distance between you and monster. I can roll out of the way. Than i can easily attack from longer distance and evade if needed. But with close range weapon, imho it's a waste of slots/skills.

| I have evasion +2 on my volvidon S armor, but personally, I don't notice a difference at all compared to evasion +1 | |

| Evasion +1 is sufficient for most monsters. Only a couple of monsters seem to pose a threat if you aren't able to roll through their roars which Eva +2 makes it easier to do. With +1 you can roll through Jho's dragon breath, which I love seeing players go O_O over.
Since the WiiU has more powerful hardware I've noticed that they (Capcom) were able to tweak the hit boxes to be more accurate according to the monsters' body contours. As a result, it's easier to evade through certain attacks without any evade skills in 3U (so far I've noticed tail swipes are easier to evade w/o skills).
Evasion Up is nice with weapons that have slow unsheathed speed (lances, heavy bowgun, GS, SA in sword mode).

| Now I look back on it, I probably could only beat and farm the nargacuga so easily because my armor had evasion +2 (I wondered how I managed to beat it in 15 minutes first try with no deaths when everyone said it was so hard!) | |
