| It's nice you want them to stay open but they had to eventually close them.
Look at the population in the US servers there is barely 300-400 in the entire server counting all four parts.
Also it's a three year old game and we recently got a new MH with online play more people are going to migrate to that game than stay.
Also it's a money issue it costs money to keep them running which they simply are not getting enough of it does them more harm than good to pay to run them.

| Look.
Every game that has an online option's servers close someday, whether it be three years or a few months or so.
I know the Tri servers are going to be shut down soon, and I will be a bit sad about it.
Remember the great times that were had with playing Tri online.

| While i understand the petition, i'm not going to sign it. With the wii having been replaced by the wiiU, it is only understandable that Capcom will focus on the latter console. By waiting with closing the servers until the next game has been released, they've done their duty. Maybe a bit on the minimal side, but they still have a MH server running in the west, that's something.
It's not like tri is entirely worthless now. It's still worth some 20 hours of playing if you're new to the series (about the length of a lot of games these days).

| You have MH3U for online play and it has far more content then Tri. Though on the WiiU and not the Wii you will always have new systems coming out. The PSP is replaced with vita, ps360 with ps4720 and as that happens the services for the games on the older system and eventually games on that system will end.
Exspect to but a new system every 5-7 years if you want to stay up to date on services and games.
The good news with MH and online is for now MH3U has it for the console and for probably as long as the WiiU is out since its servers are ran by Nintendo and MH4 has already been confirmed to have full online for the 3DS it will hopefully be here in the states by early next year or less.
So at that time you will have 2 options for MH online play and much more content than Tri ever had.

And they could also let people rent the ability to make rooms of 4 people, for like £20 a month, I'm sure capcom could make money out of it.

I don't think people would care enough about MHT to pay to play online. Especially with MH3U out with thousands of players playing. It would be cheaper just to get a Wii U and MH3U for it.

You have to pay to play MHT online if you live in japan, I believe

| I know of course it's a long shot but it's worth it isn't it? And I would love to get a Wii U but I don't have the money for a $350 console and a $60 game. | |

| You do realize you eventually will have to buy a new console considering that this console era is pretty much complete. | |

| I wish something like this would have worked out for MH1.
But
There is a reason for the servers to shut down. MH3U is MH3. Wish they just kept it an expansion though. Somethings that have changed are pretty dumb.
