| I was just wondering what monsters you would like to see back and how hunting them could change with the new game-play mechanics.
I would love to see the Kirin make a come back, it is such a kick ass looking monster and you could jump on its back while it tries to kick you off and then you can kind of gauge when to jump off before he performs his 360 degrees lightning attack. A dark element sub-species would look awesome too!
So which monsters do you want to see?
P.S I hope I have posted this in the right place XD

| I'm disappointed in the 1st/2nd Gen comebacks like Khezu, Gypceros, and especially Yian Kut Ku
I despise those monsters, design wise (and Gyp and Yian combat wise) I feel Gen 3 monsters were way more creative, they weren't just blatant reskins with a couple new moves. I like that Jaggi is coming back, along with the old raptors gives more variety since you have the pretty much small monster Dromes, then an actually big monster Jaggi
I hope Barioth gets in, good Ice Variety, and Barroth and the Brute Wyverns would be a blast to fight in uneven terrain.
Oh yeah and Gigginox is way cooler than Khezu, actually looks like a believable monster not just a tube of flesh with lips

| ^I take it you're more of a MHTri fan than the previous MH's? I loved fighting Kut-ku, Gyp, and Khezu. Throwback is always nice. I just hope they bring A LOT of monsters into this game so there will be enough to do. | |

| Yeah, my perceptions are probably colored by Tri being my first game. I've played a bit of Freedom Unite, I like alot of the monsters, I dont mind the Pelagus, even Cephalos is cool despite hitboxes. But I flat out hate Kut Ku and Gypceros, not only do that fight like idiots, they look like it too.
We need more Hypnocatrices and Qurupecos, maybe some Deinonychus styled raptors, small more pack like and feathered.
I can live with Khezu in 4, but I'd much prefer Gigginox, khezu is more flat out disgusting not really scary in any real way, whereas Gigginox is indescribably creepy. Its like a Gecko, but with Leech like characteristics, but at the same time its body appears to have form, while its movement imply otherwise, etc, whereas Khezu is a Rathian with its head removed, thicker wings, smaller tail and teeth and lips where a head would be.
I'll be irked though if they introduce a Poison Subspecies of Khezu
Also I hope they don't go the route I'm seeing Frontier go with Leviathans and Brutes, I get that there's probably no underwater, and don't get me wrong a cave Leviathan and a Flying one are cool, but we need more Lagiacrus styled ones, or maybe a long bodied sand dweller. I mean they are SEA Wyverns. maybe some half aquatic or swamp areas filled with Water dwellers Especially with brute wyvevrns, I sorta like that long green one with the red plates or spines, but it doesn't scream Brute Wyvern like the Tri ones do. Although the Frog thing looks pretty awesome, look forward to fighting that
Oh and one last thing, I hope that New Spider thing isnt the only one of its kind, and that they introduce some large Neopterons, I haven't gotten to fight a Quenn Vespoid yet, and I'm disappointed that there was no Queen Bnahabra or maybe even a Queen Altaroth (imagine fighting one in tight tunnels, like your in its hive or somethings, trying to navigate the maze to hit a weakpoint while avoiding regular Ants)

| Looking through the similar thread, which was naming only 4 different monsters, I'm "somewhat" surprised that no one has mentioned more monsters from Frontier. Raviente and Rukodiora came up, both of which I would enjoy, despite any possible issues involving a fight with Raviente...
Kirin would be nice. Always thought of a subspecies that could use all elements and statuses, but would actually adapt to take advantage of a player's elemental weaknesses and inflict multiple statuses such as paralysis and sleep in order to prepare a lethal attack.
The main monster I would love to see in MH4 would be Amatsumagatsuchi, the hurricane-using elder dragon from Portable 3rd, but more difficult. Admittedly, I have not played P3rd, so I have little idea on how difficult he really is...never imported the game.
It would be nice if instead of several new subspecies to past monsters, we get more monsters that are in Frontier...since I have no clue of what will be in Monster Hunter Online...

| Well as the title you back in MH4 I am assuming he means main series. Not frontier which is is a whole different beast. What I want is the return of all elder dragons that were in unite revamped to worth with 3rd and 4th gen mechanics the return of slay/repel quests that stacked in to the next hunt. I feel the need to step away from the HP tanks that ruled 3rd gen. I miss hunting kushala daora, teostra hunts and the rest of that family of dragons. | |

| Please be more specific with the reskins because I am a little confused here. If you want to talk about not being original all of third gen with the exception or returning monsters borrowed moves from every monster to ever exist. Up until maybe mhp3rd I think the most original monster 3rd gen has is agnaktor which only really borrows the laser from gravios. If you want to complain about the lack of originality look at the source material and look how many of it's move sets were borrowed from to make 3rd gen. | |

Barioth is basically a slower narga, alatreon had the same move sets as Kushala/Teostra/Lunastra and resembles those 3 a lot, Dire even stands like a fatalis. The only new monsters I can think of that had nothing to do with 2nd gen are brutes, fanged and leviathans (cause they were introduced in 3rd gen games) And Jhen Mohran cause battling a monster on a ship and on top of the monster was exiting (you could jump on Lao but it's not the same thing) I was introduced to Monster Hunter with tri and went back to FU and even if you fight the monsters over and over again and they have the same attacks (Kushala/Teo/Lun, Ian/Garuga, Yians/Hypnoc) they still have a different level of challange and I am glad they made a return with MH4 Besides, MH4 looks so different from any MH that I am looking forward to see new attacks done from the same old monsters as well as old and familiar attacks

What I mean is that the old MH monsters look like reskins of eachother, yian kut-ku, gycerpos, hypnocatrice and many many other monsters share movesets, even to the extent where I could probably beat every one of them with the same strategy and treat them all like the same monster, each one only seems to have 1 or 2 moves that are unique to them. Every time I had to fight ANOTHER kut-ku reskin It made me get bored with freedom unite...

| They all behave different in frontier there is only so much they can do with limited space they are given in a game. They act different enough for me or their hides react differently enough for it to be negligible for me. They all fall under the bird wyvern category so of course they are going to share a large move pool. Hypnoc kicks and puts hunters to sleep often gypceros has rubbery skin so shock traps have no effect on it and weapons bounce more often not to mention it flashes and plays dead and the last litte detail is that it runs way more than other bird wyverns you just have to look. Sure when they stand still and taunt it's the same but there is more than enough differences to say they are not purely reskins of each other. | |

We don't see eye to eye on alot of things haruno... but, HECK YEAH on this idea, lol I loved the challenging aspect of white fatalis. Essentially, it was 1 hit = 1 death. Either you had the guts skill, or you learned how to avoid its lightning. Same with being eaten by Yamatsukami. Learn the monster moveset or GTFO. /rock/ lol, not really, but a real challange is definately something welcomed by me, and Fatalis gets my vote as an addition to MH4.

| You can be saved from any fatal blows as long as life powder is used before the person in question lands on the ground for most attacks at least from past experiences. On the fatalis thing as long as I don't have to solo it I'm game new players need to see what we had to go through prior to 3rd. I just love to see their speed run times and solo times then ask them, ever play monster hunter freedom unite? Their responses are usually is that a new game or what are you talking about? Then they try it out and rage at unite's hitboxes which to me were never really an issue lol | |

| I have never played Frontier and I like the designs of a lot of the monsters. Some examples: Odeibatorasu Raviente Akura Vashimu and Akura Jebia Kamu Orugaron and Nono Orugaron because of their interesting concept of teamwork between monsters. and a few other monsters such as the fatalis, lunastra, and teostra.

| Never fought them, but I think it would be nice to see Akantor (and maybe Ukanlos) back in 4. Just need to borrow some of it's moves from Frontier for Akantor and it wouldn't be so easy to beat... a speed boost would help too. But then again I've never fought it, so maybe I just want there to be plenty of awesome elder dragons and epic bosses to come back. | |
