Nice. What armor set are you using, as well as what weapon? Also, how much defense do your armor pieces have (I'm assuming you've upgraded them all of the way.)?

| Maybe he has a defensive weapon that he honed for more defense, as well.
As for me, I really want to find Yian Garugas in the Everwood, but I have only seen one so far... I would really appreciate a G Rank Expedition quest (preferably with Long Sword) if anyone has one.
Next on my to-do list, hunt some normal Zamtrios for their Grandfins, so that I can be one step closer to upgrading my ice Long Sword.

I have a level 94 Yian Garuga quest. It's a hammer/HH weapon bias though.

What set? What skills? What weapon? max def on an armor with defense up XL is 759. add defense up XL on top of that, then food boosts, armoskin boost...horn boost? Extreme forged weapon for defence...etc. defence charm, defence talon |

For example, both Gravios and Black Gravios G rank armor give defense skills but each is different. And some weapons give defense ontop of adding in the obvious defense Hone. I'm curious as to the exact armor pieces, gems, etc though.

| It's just Gravios X with two Defense Jewel 2. Weapon can be any +50 defense (highest, but there's several) honed for Defense +60.
I can farm Gravios to test this out, it should be over 1250 after items, and I have a lot of Divines (tho I'm just gonna reset after testing so it's not a gigantic waste).

| Simple inference would infer that as a combined skill, it's inferior to Defense Up XL, much like Honed Blade is inferior to Attack Up XL (in terms of raw stats, not actual effectiveness). | |

Interesting, and here I was hoping there would be a reason to farm Black Gravios G rank for an armor set, it looks cooler than the normal Gravios, but since super defense is the key I guess I'll make normal Gravios.

| Just realised you can duplicate Zenith Wyvern Gems in Cathar. Basically you insert 1 Zenith Wyvern Gem L and 1 Zenith Wyvern Gem and you get like 2 Zenith Wyvern Gems. It's great because Zenith Wyvern Gems L are more common than normal ones (L comes from Apex Rajang). And Zenith Wyvern Gems are more important than Zenith Wyvern Gems L because you use them to polish relics. | |

| Hunted some lowbies and high rank monsters to craft me a new armor set + a wep to go with it. Sharp+1, hg plugs, status+2, crit eye+1 and razor sharp to go with my new Psammophages para duals. Doesn't have the best paralysis stats out there but they still pack a punch when I get that paralysis out. Over 800 defence after I honed my wep for defence and I can still go higher. Double divine blessing both from wep and food should make certain I'm not easily owned when I'm statusing my butt off.
Then we grinded my buddy's shagaru magala bowgun quest to 140 and managed to get a few down before I had to call it a night. Usually dished out 2 paralysis during 6-7 minute hunts. Could have used a better 4th person random tho, he was using poison glaive for some reason even though our gs buddy had the chameleos poison gs. All that potential elemental dps, gone. Then his mounting was more than iffy at best and he was taking a load of unneccesary damage from shagaru too, most notably from a simple charge attack. Worst part was, he had a very nice armor set (very yummy honed blade set) and actually seemed like smart player too... but he just didn't have the skillz to pay the bills I guess.
I also found a fun way to abuse the fact that he does a very noticeable tell and goes airborne to roar, by setting bombs below him. He doesn't like em half the time tho and spawns exploding stuff below it and my buddies certainly dislike his spawning garbage when they're bowgunning and greatswording.
Friend already snagged 510 raw hbg, reload abv. avg recoil low, normal 9 11 11, pierce - - 5, crouchfiring normal s lv3 pelle s lv1 crag s lv1 flaming s *slow clap* Get rekt mohran?

| Grats on Dalamdur(?) Firpi. That big snake can be soloed. Just learn the patterns, and keep doing dps. I went strictly for its claws and learned when (more or less), he would flinch and fall to try to get in a few hits on its face. But just look at where he positions his claws and when, and go there.
Journal: Haven't been able to unlock the last few Low Rank, or High Rank Caravan quests. Guess I need to do the regular quests in the gathering hall until I find out which ones open the last ones.
Decided to Gun down a Berzerk Tetsucabra with the Kushala LBG... less than 5 minutes left on the hunt, and then capped it. Switched back to Great-Sword and was done in under 15 minutes... seriously, isn't that thing weak to ice? o well. Guess GS > LBG... or anything else at this point in G.

| I tried Soloing Dala, broke both claws, broke bunch of things on his back, and he triple carted me with just minutes left. My daughter was rooting me on the whole time saying she wants to wear it tongue as a cape, ( I named my character after her and many times she vetos my equipment choices...) I think she was more upset than i was.
Its strange cause i wsa taking its hits and lasers all fight with no worries, then all of sudden he said, IMA FIRIN MAH LAZAH and OHKO.... TWICE!!!

| LOL, yep, it triple carted me a few hunts until I learned its pattern. That big laser is very dodgable, and it is wide open on its second shot, if you go down to where it's head opens up. Dale becomes a punching bag once you realize how it attacks. Keep getting gear for your daughter!! :-D It is great when a kid puts itself in the place of the hunter. They get even more excited than we do. And once this game comes out for the Wii-U, that they can see themselves on the big screen, its even better. | |

| my duaghters 14 by the way, and she has tried to play MH. she picks it up every once in a while (we still use the good ole wii and she puts in tri) And she wants to so we can play together, but the game just eludes her grasp. She can do racing games, and RPGS. but this and fighting games just.... she just cant do it. Everyone in the family LIKES the game, unfortunately Im the only that really invests in it. Back in Tri and later 3U, my wife was a BAMF Hammer user. but now she has job and a really nice phone that keeps her connected to the web. | |

| My (much younger) cousin is 14 as well, and she just loves watching the game, but in her words "I get too scared and excited to be able to play!". And that is indeed the case. Back in tri, on the first encounter with the Lagiacruz she would turn away and scream at all it's attacks. Very emotional, but makes for a very poor hunter, lol. She still enjoys watching the game, but it's intensity is just too much. :-D.
Journal: Decided that I should probably do my rank up quests to go from G1-G2. Hitting a wall in upgrading my gear, while maintaining the skills I need. Considering getting my Magala Guild Quests to G rank and seeing what gear comes out of that.
