Good movie games are just impossible to make, an average game lasts 10 hours, way too long to make a movie out of, they can make book-movies simply because they don't need to describe everything, but a game already shows most things with it's visuals, like a movie, so you have to cut out lots of the game to convert it into a movie, for example, look at the LoZ manga, in the OoT one at least, they cut out all the puzzles and simply put in the bosses to represent the temples just so they didn't have to make a million volumes. For a movie the choice is either to cut out half the storyline, or to make a different story, if you do either one of these, fans will get pissed and the movie will fail.
this is why they started making video games that act out as movies, you know...
and even if they decided to make it, I would not want to watch a movie about a pointy eared man in a skirt grunting & side-jumping his way thru a fairy tale land just to see him fight manbearpig and get friendzoned by the princess he risks his life for.

Who is actually his sister according to some lore I'd found awhile back.

Correction - FF7 Advent Children was a beast of a film.

That's an exception, like how there was like one good virtual boy game.
