| So it’s been about 8 months since the release of MH3U. It seems way longer to me, I’ve only clocked about 580 hours, and that’s only from playing a few hours before I go to bed, and a few dedicated MH days xD. I’ve gotten to HR 200, which is the highest I’ve gotten. I was only HR 125 in Tri, but I didn’t play much Tri at all. As of now I have 41/44 awards, I only need Artisans Hammer, and the Gold Large/Small Crown awards (the most time consuming awards imo). I’ve made tons of awesome armor and weapons, as well as custom sets. I’ll actually be posting a video of all my armor sets at the request of a viewer from my Youtube Channel. I’d say right now my favorite two sets to use are my God’s Archipelago Status Set (Status Attack+2 , Recoil Down+2, Bonus Shot, Load Up) and my Great Sword set (Rock Steady, Critical Draw, Sharpness+1, Focus).
There are some things I feel needed some changes. The number of custom sets you can have is way too low imo. I have so many sets that I like to use, and have to keep a file on my desktop on how to make them. I always find myself making a hard decision on which set to replace. Also, before you set off on a quest, it would be helpful to see if the quest is day and night. I usually see it when I post or join then I forget as I start getting all my items together. If it could appear under the menu where you can view the quest that would be great. Finally, the one thing that really upsets me is when you try to join a game but get the error message that you can’t connect and it kicks you out of network mode -_-
I could say a tons more about my gameplay experience these past months, but I’d like to hear how everybody’s experience has been since release.

| My experience has been fairly similar to yours, except I haven't played quite as long, and the time playing it distributed to two of my characters, so I'm rather far behind compared to you. My main complaints are pretty much the ones you listed. I'd also like to have extra pages to hold my items too. Having 10 pages for all of your stuff isn't enough. We should have at least 12, if not more. | |

| I spent at least 1100 hours in 3U, got 42/44 awards (aimed for 43 because Agrosy License is just too much time consuming and i'd rather play with friends online). Currently i'm about to get last award (King's Crown) and than probably I'll start grinding for serious (4pt runs). Also HR588 or something.
The biggest issue with this game is definately low number of slots to save custom sets. I run out of it pretty much in single player experience so i had to write them down on my computer. I had few sets for gathering, mining, capturing etc. but i had to delete them in order to have acces to ones which i use more frequently. Right now i always have one "random-free" slot to save whatever i feel like at the moment.
As far as my fav sets are concerned of course i love all my GS sets (awaken set, S+1 set, counterJho set, Weakness Expliot set) but also Bamboo Kaguya set with Awaken, Water Atk+2, Focus, Evasion+1, Weakness Exploit (Silver Los killer).
Definately I'm not done with this game, although this whole charm table system limits a bit possibilities (got pretty much all good charms in my table) but w/e I can live with that.
I hope 3U servers will last long.

| I was actually going to ask you about that Bamboo set, I've been meaning to make a set for it. You should go for Argosy's. It took me two days (only about 4-5 hours a day) to finish the award. And that was starting from scratch knowing i had other.

| I've never seen Jho in Moga Woods but encounter Ivory few times (thank God). I think i lack only few more to obtain the award but I'm really not into solo it. With any of my current gear none of the monsters in Woods are really a challenge for me. Solo exp is good in G rank, but other than that it's just boring for me. I'd rather stick with online with real people, it's always a nice surprise seing their sets. As for bamboo bow, I highly recommend going for Element Atk Up or Water Atk+2. Other than that Awaken of course and the rest is pretty much just a bonus. You'll be focusing only on lv2 charges (spread 5), if you practise a little you'll find a right distance to land all 5 arrows. When you do you'll see that the element dmg is just crazy on it. I also run Weakness Exploit, Focus and Evade+1 but it's just me. I like to have 5 skills instead of 4. It's really great fun to fight silver los with it, aim to the wings when it glides to pull him from the skies | |

I feel you on that, it was sooooooo fun to play with other people after countless Kelbi Runs u_____U. I'll look into that set. It sounds pretty fun, bow is one of my favorites but I only have 2 sets, Kelbi and General Bow. Back to deciding which set I don't need D:

| Zaujalem, You will really enjoy it but I highly suggest to split your time between offline and online play. The Offline play is well worth doing as there are some things you can only doin the village. You'll love the gamepad as well. it takes a bit of time to get use to but it's one of the best controllers I have ever used and makes monster hunting a real pleasure.
As far as MH3U so far. The game its self is wonderful.. but the atmospher if a dit diheartening. This is mostly due to the way Capcom and Nintendo has treated it in the west and knowing that MH4 was already about to be released in Japan by the time we finally got last generations game.
3U is an amazing game and I have enjoyed it and still do but I can't help but feel a bit dissapointed each time I play it knowing I'm just waiting on any news of MH4's release and well... have been even since before 3U was ever released here. The 2 games just don't compare. Tri was a game without any cometition where as 3U was set up for failure from the start IMO. We knew nothing of 3U for a long long time when Tri was released here in the west but by the time 3U came out, well MH4 was scheduled to be released in Japan the same day (luckily nintendo and capcom chose to delay it) but I think a lot of damage was already done. Many people here still bought 3U but a lot also skipped it or kept compareing it to either tri, MHFU or how much it lacked over what MH4 would have... and upon MH4's release in september in japan there was a massive drop in players online in 3U not just in Japan but world wide. And the drop wasn't very casual either, so it wasn't much of a coincident.
Anyways ranting aside, I love 3U 8 months in but can't help but feeling the long delay in localization hurt it and hope that doesn't happent to mh4 as well...

| ^Still agreeing with you on the MH4 competition being a horrible mistake, to have it ready to launch and everything so early... Way too close to MH3U, which would've done better otherwise.
My experience with the game has been great, even if it took my younger brother a lot of prodding just to get me to finally get into the game, what with how similar the story is to Tri's. I'm alright with the story, don't get me wrong, it's just that I'm not a big fan of repeating things ">.> I really enjoy the inclusion of the subspecies and G rank, along with the monsters who were new to me. I also like how many more monsters are available to free hunt, what with how much I enjoy a good Jho round. My brother and I used to talk about how much fun it would've been while we were playing Tri to see more monsters in free hunt, and here it was, just like we had talked about! I also enjoyed the day and night options and how those worked. I must admit, however, that I do miss the old Alatreon from Tri... With the changes, it's now a nightmare, and those ballista just don't help me :/ I would have to agree that there just wasn't enough armor set registration allowed, and the box really could've used another page or two, what with how easily it filled up on me with all the subspecies and monsters' materials, plus all of my potions. I'm also in agreement with how the details on day or night for a quest should've shown when you looked at the details from your menu. That is, after all, an important detail of the quest. Great game, though, overall

| It seems from what i'm hearing, is that tri is better than mh3gu. Everyone just dosen't have money like that, seeing as how mh is unpredictable with every game for which console its gonna be on.I thought mh3gu would be for the wii,so i didnt have to want to be a wiiu just to play it.I have a 3ds now,but i still want the wiiu version of it. And with mh4 coming out as well,Mh3gu got overshadowed by money problems and the upcoming of mh4. The funny part is, mh isnt the worst offender when it comes to "Random console time!"Alot of game series have done this-cough-kingdom hearts-cough-. Btw,are the servers more stable than tri? I used to get a dc at the worst of time. One time, just got done slaying jhen for hr 31,and i dced when i was carving him,so i was still hr 30. And are guys still flirt on girls on the servers? My sis loves mh more than me,yet she got scared on online due to how man guys were hitting on her,so she never played tri again, well atleast online anyways. | |

Yeah, it isn't the first to switch around systems... Most games that're in series, whether there's a story line flowing through the games or not, tend to try out different systems, in a way of putting it. Some are more stable about this while some, well, not so much. As for the flirting... I'll admit, I had guys flirt with me on Tri, but I still got on there, anyway, even if I did sometimes go invisible and play avoidance when I didn't feel up to it (dang, what, three or four guy friends did? Wish I was kidding). I'm sorry to hear it frightened your sister offline, but, well, even if I've never been online for 3U, it's a fact of life; people flirt. Good chance if you're a girl and go online, there will be guys who will flirt with you. Of course, there's also a chance a girl will go online and flirt with guys. People are people... Some flirt, some don't. I do hope the flirting isn't so bad, though, knowing how there aren't so many people due to MH4 >.>

I wouldn't bother. The online community is dying much more quickly than Tri's life.

| Dark: 3U is much better than Tri all around.
Zaujalem: it is wort getting. There are still people to play with and even if mH4 does come out it is still worth having a full sized MH to play on TV when you are home. Also there is no telling when 4 will be released. Also you can do everything solo so you get the full game unlike you did with Tri. So yes it's absolutely worth getting and you don't lose any of the content if they ever do discontinue the servers which is unlikely any time soon since it's the only home console MH in the west.

Tri may have been my younger brother and my first MH game, but he was also disappointed about this after he started looking into more MH stuff (he used to look up anything about the game, honestly). He ended up wanting to face more monsters on the previous games and wanted more weapon types available, so, of course, he was excited about MH3U. Both of us pre-ordered the game so we could team up on it, face the new monsters, and try out the other weapon classes. I do wish they had done this with Tri, but, alas, that game is in the past now, what with the servers gone and MH3U being the current game online. Was fun while it lasted, even with what was left undone.

| I'm just trying to send some feelers out a bit for some hunters to join online with (I haven't got Internet properly set up yet just using my phone) it's one of the most intense gaming moments iv ever had , 1 minute left diablos is weakened and we both charge at each other hoping for the final kill, so worth it when it works and even better when your hunting party sees it, glorious game. Just want to kill a Kushala daora again tbh | |

| To be honest,I kinda want a wiiu version of mh4, that we could play it on the TV. And that way we won't have to buy a 3ds or a wiiu, we could just choose which platform we want it for. Seeing the new weapon types, new monsters, and the new style of game play with better graphics on the TV would be wonderful. But i doubt they would make it since they haven't confirmed it when mh4 came out.

| I like the fact MH4 will not be on the WiiU and hope they do not decide to put it there later. Having two seperate games on different systems 3DS/WiiU makes a lot of sense overall and helps draw fans to both systems giveing them a reason to hunt mobilly online and at home on the lare screen online. 3U is a great at home experiance on the wiiu with friends and once MH4 is out here it will be a great experiance as well but for a differant reason. Two different platforms offereing two different play styles overall and if Capcom keeps them seperate.... Well that will be a great idea overall and a great way to have to MH games going on at the same time one for the home and one for the road offering different types of experiancexes and hunting styles. | |

| For me Wii U version is decisive version of this game. Huge screen, very comfortable controls and reliable online services. MH4 also have online so i'm not entirely sure what do you mean by two different playstyles. It's obvious that 4th is completely new generation, but doesn't mean it'll (or should) stick to the handhelds. The same was with first and second generation when they were introduced to handheld market with PSP instalments.
I really hope they port MH4 to Wii U. I'm not gonna lie, I play mostly at home after work so there's really no need for me to play on small screen of handheld just for a reason. Also controls on 3DS are very uncomfortable for me. Even with CPP it's not perfect.

| Antari18: 3u has underwater battles, and basically a single vilage HUB even with the multiplayer port and a different moster set from older games where MH4 has the more open world style of gameplay, the new climbing on mosters/wall ect. mechanic and multiple villages to visit.
By keeping MH4 on the 3DS and 3U as the only (main series game) on the WiiU it allows for two MH main series games to exist cohecively at the same time. Where as if you put MH4 on the WiiU as well... then it is unlikely 3U could continue at all, as most would only play MH4 on the WiiU. However, keep MH4 as a 3DS version and 3U as the WiiU version and it actually promotes the playing of both games and in the long run promotes sales all around of both games and system.
As far as the CPP.. Don't like it and never did. The controls on the 3DS for 3U though.. Love em' never liked the PSP controls myself but the auto swinging camera on the 3DS I think is the best thing to ever happen to MH with controls.

| Yeah if they'll ever release MH4 on Wii U, I'll probably drop 3U for it almost instantly. Tbh there's not much for me to do in 3U aside from grinding to 999 or starting new character. I started playing on the premiere and still playing for fun. On the other hand you're right - 3U features exclusively underwater battles so I think it could perfectly coexsist with 4 on Wii U. Also it's worth noting that 3U is available on 3DS. So it's pretty much the same relation as it would be on Wii U. I think people will still look into 3U because of unique underwater combat and lower price in comparision to 4.
Also keep in mind that 3DS is doing reasonably well as far as sales are concerned. On contrary Wii U is not doing so great, so i recon releasing such huge blockbuster as MH on it will largly increase sales of the system in Japan and worldwide. Either way it's win - win.
